Typically, Jaysen is a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of guy that does not seem to have too many cares that plague him. While he does, obviously, care for his sister and her family, there are also things that make it very questionable about how he decides to go about his business.
The happy front appears, more times than not, to be a facade that assists Jaysen in doing more than meets the eye. Where there are people that may assume of Jaysen as a carefree individual with little to no regard for responsibility, he actually does carry a heavy burden. With his know how and knowledge from studying biochemistry, biology, and anatomy, he is quite the asset to have when it concerns medical needs and attention for serious injuries or concerns.
The only times that Jaysen's cheerful expression seems to break is when he has significant amount of worry or concern for anything that might be threatening those he cares for. Because his sister has kids of her own, his primary attention seems to be more for their own good versus his own safety. Should anything threaten the safety of his nieces and nephew, Jaysen's expression will harden and even grow dark.
Anything else, Jaysen tends to have a level head, and will do what he can to talk others down from tense and aggressive situations. He has a better handle on his emotions than most, and he will act more out of good and thought out consciousness rather than allowing his emotions to get the better of him. When things should not be blown out of proportion, Jaysen will definitely do what it takes so that events do not escalate.
