Gist
Z'jînn is a human man with Nkhya'jran blood traits, at the ripe age of 26 Earth years. He had a close relationship with his mother, bordering upon incest, but ever since the birth of his younger sister {whom no one is really aware of the existence of outside the family}, they had have a much healthier distance between them. Though his mother has continued to keep a close watch on her only male child as much as possible as she is protective of him. She is equally protective of his much younger sister, Kaiya'. Since her birth, Z'jînn got a bit more freedom from his mother. However, that made little difference when it came to his father.

Z'jînn is a Captain in the Püertagœn Navy, despite his young age. This, in part, is due to his lineage on his father's side, and the fact that his father himself is a Marshall of the Military. In his own right though, Z'jînn has gone on more than one expedition, found an artifact or has been in close combat with the Ṅkhya'jra, displaying an ease with delegation, and strategy. Though some have been known to question how simple it is for Z'jînn to hone in on locations for artifacts, or rather, his hunches on their locations, he does not think twice about it as he is more concerned with keeping the artifacts from the Ṅkhya'jra, as well as killing them. It is good fuel for his ego and his ever rising rank.

What most do not know, however, is that aiding Z'jînn are people he employs to gather information, sometimes disobeying orders to supersede another ship to finding an artifact, or making an opportune movement first.


Beliefs
Z'jînn more or less understands ritual, tradition and does the song & dance. However, he does not truly believe in the Gods as something imminent and to be revered. They were and he will honor them as respectfully as one should the dead. He will put out offerings to be an example to his crew, and the populace due to his standing. Not to mention, for the sake of his mother, most especially if she asks. Personally though, Z'jînn could care less.

Due to his work, he has been sent on expedition and to war for an artifact before. So, to him, this shows that the Gods were in fact real and alive at some point. At the end of the day, it is about power, whether it be simply social standing, or the good of 'his people'. Though he has been known to ask or pray to them in his mind during stressful situations, despite not 'coming to them' as a true believer does.



Personality
Z'jînn first and foremost is a rather odd duck. With a burning stare, and rigid posture, he can come off as intimidating, and his looming silence does not help matters whatsoever. The truth though is that he is terrible with words, and social situations, which is why he seems aloof. Z'jînn might be a duty bound soldier, but he does enjoy reading, and anything is better than dealing with the mess that is human emotion.

Z'jînn is a bit emotionally crippled as the man has a definite difficulty with empathizing. He can sympathize however, but with his rationale that is a driving force of 'getting to a preferred end result', if you showed the man a dying puppy that could be suffering, he'd kill it rather than attempt to make it comfortable. It's not that he doesn't have a heart, it's simply an innate preference for logic over emotion as he does not understand them the same way that you and I do. If it existed in Tam'nýer—a''n lore and their medical understanding, Z'jînn would most likely fall into the Austism spectrum.

This all being said, the man does love, and it can be all encompassing, but he also has the ability to compartmentalize. When he is at work, he really can leave everything else at the door. His greatest strength however, could arguably be said to lie in the fact that Z'jînn understands that he has limits. In fact, he knows what they are and ultimately accepts them, making him a good leader in the fact that he knows that others can excel in things that he cannot, making him a fantastic delegator in turn.

Z'jînn enjoys small things in his spare time such as bathing in hot water, reading {historical non-fiction, literature & satire most notably}, drinking Tágraz {wine} & Şzein {whisky}, sparring, and committing self-flagellation.






Tam'nýer—a' Group Rank: 7
As is customary for human children, and seeing as how being a housewife wouldn't work for a son born from a Marshall of Püertagœ, let alone a descendant of one of the 12 greater families, Z'jînn has been training swordsmanship and fighting from a young age. His father, always thanks to his harshness, started the boy off mercilessly young at 6 earth years (just under two Tam'nýer—a''n months). But this included the simplistic task of just polishing his father's swords, and doing simple around the house chores whilst wearing the weight of armor in preparation. After all, what is a man without strength?

All in all, it only fed the boy's maturing coldness. By the age of maturity, (5 Tam'nýer—a''n months / 16 Earth Years), Z'jînn could run around any ring of Püertagœ wearing 40lbs of armor, and was immediately entered into the navy, while his father put him through military training routines at home to ensure that his son was not 'weakened by the sea'. As a saving grace, being deployed on a vessel gained the young man privacy, and an escape from his overbearing father, despite growing more fond, as well as grateful, for his 'cruelty' as he continues to age.

Now at the age of 26 earth years, (7.5 Tam'nýer—a''n months roughly), he's been in the Navy for 3 Tam'nýer—a''n months (10 Earth years), known for being decisive, cunning and excelling in leadership.
