Z'jînn

Z'jînn's family life is tumultuous as his mother was somewhat lowly as she came to Püertagœ, though she did have money. With time, she caught the eye of a high ranking gentleman of Püertagœ. A gentleman whose lineage descends from Mzlœbe, one of the 12 Great Families of Püertagœ, and now holds the position of being the Marshall of Püertagœ's Army. While his father is rumored to be unfaithful it is merely chalked up to his venturings, leading many expeditions and fighting the Ṅkhya'jra.

When it came to the Marshall's children, (and when he was home) he was extremely strict. An example of this is when Z'jînn was caught in the stables exploring his sexuality with a mere stable boy. Despite homosexuality not being a societal issue in Püertagœ, the stable boy was quietly dispatched and Z'jînn was disciplined brutally by being whipped by his disapproving father off and on for 3 earth days (3 Tam'nýer-a''n Hours). These few days of punishment however truly marked Z'jînn as a young boy and created a flame that could not be extinguished.

In his young mind, it translated that being beaten was not only acceptable but a learning tool. It also gave birth to an arousal reaction to inflicting pain on others, as well as receiving it, though Z'jînn keeps this part mostly to himself. In times of stress and in a private setting, while most turn to drink to take the edge off, Z'jînn will also cause self-harm by either self-flagellation or using his nails, dragging them across his flesh. The lust side of things changed as well during those 3 days, transforming it into bloodlust, which propelled him to follow in his father's footsteps, joining the navy of Püertagœ.

With ruthless determination, his father's military record and added prestige of being a part of Püertagœ's naval forces, Z'jînn can be an arrogant, cruel man with understandable baggage, but undeniably a needed part of the navy. Though perhaps his joining of the naval forces was a wise decision in the long run, since socially, the Captain is actually quite awkward. He is known to only speak when needed and can come off quite abrupt as he tends not to offer continuation to a conversation.

On a survey expedition in tandem with the Khah' to gain knowledge of whether the Ṅkhya'jra were expanding their lands/occupation of the Emerald Isles, Z'jînn noticed that the islands look so rife with life. The trees and flowers looked as though they were being used and guided to grow as a wall. Some trees even showed an inhuman rate of growth and revealed a height of growth that was previously believed to be unattainable.

Upon returning to Püertagœ, he told his commanding officers how he felt, which was that if the Isles were as plentiful as he saw, someone or something must be there nurturing the wildlife. It certainly was not the Khah'. With an entire month going by, the young Captain bided his time, eagerly awaiting word from his father, the Marshall, on what the Senate would eventually decree. Finally news came. He was selected to go with his regiment back to a particular isle to investigate much more closely and take action if the Ṅkhya'jra truly inhabited it.

With the Emerald Isles being a no man's land, taking it over could be a move seen as an act of war, and if Z'jînn went under the guise of seeking out an artifact, well that would excuse the ransacking of any settlement. Unfortunately for the Ṅkhya'jra, that is exactly what happened. Z'jînn and his men took them by surprise, absolutely devastating them. Save for 15, the rest were.. 'dispatched'. Being the type of man he was, he decided to bring 14 to B'hărăbû for sale, giving the money to the authorities of Püertagœ upon docking and keep one, as slavery was not entirely illegal within the city.

For himself, Z'jînn kept a young man of a Ṅkhya'jra named Sascha, who he tends to use when in search for an artifact, as everyone knows of how easily the Ṅkhya'jra can sense them. However, it should be noted that the Ṅkhya'jra who he kept also made a point to convince the Captain to keep him. He was a talented apothecary after all. Z'jînn has been keeping the man's company for just over a Tam'nýer—a''n month now (3.5 e. years), and now regards षछ (Ṣacha) as a staple of his household and way of life, going so far as to trust him.

Z'jînn is currently stationed in Püertagœ about to go to the Federation of the Sky-Coral Sea. Z'jînn seems to be spending most of his free time trying to shut off, visiting the Red Rose Teahouse once a Tam'nýer—a''n day (10 Earth days). Though lately it is merely for food and drink.

With the extremely recent holiday of Bûsta-gr'tîš'sk (Star-Crossed Day), which is the closest Tam'nýer—a' gets to a Valentine's Day, the Naval Captain happened to finally make the acquaintance of a mutually beneficial informant face-to-face: Reža' Ysfol Sum’nër'. Much to his chagrin, Z'jînn has found himself to be dallying with the Sum'nër' the past few days.

Aside from dalliances, risking something of a greater magnitude, Z'jînn is beginning to work rather closely with his newly appointed Lieutenant First Class, Blaž'Mar. The Captain has taken the half-Khah' more or less under his wing, and has come to consider the man a true friend. Not a common thing for Z'jînn.
