Fuyu Clan (冬一族 – Fuyu Ichizoku)
Overview
The Fuyu Clan is an ancient and once-powerful shinobi clan originating from the Hyōga Mountain Range in the far north. Known as the “Winter Clan” or “Clan of Purification,” they were the founding and ruling clan of the Glacier Village (Hyōga no Sato). Their kekkei genkai, Purification, made them both respected and feared across the shinobi world.
Physical Traits:
Striking blue eyes (green eyes will only appear if the bloodline has Yami Clan blood in it like in Hisako's case. Green eyes are considered cursed in this clan)
Pale skin
Hair colors usually range from light brown to black
Graceful, almost ethereal build suited for high-mobility combat and diplomatic work
Kekkei Genkai: Purification
The Fuyu Clan’s signature ability allows them to purify negative chakra, corrupted emotions, hatred, curse marks, and dark intent. Advanced users can sense emotions and true intentions with near-perfect accuracy, making them exceptional at detecting lies, hidden malice, or disguised alliances.
History & Culture
The Fuyu Clan, alongside the Yukigafuru Clan, founded the Glacier Village hundreds of years ago. The village’s strategic location (protected by mountains on one side and ocean on the other) made it a natural neutral ground and diplomatic hub. The Fuyu were traditionally the diplomats and peacekeepers, while the Yukigafuru focused more on combat and defense.
Their philosophy centered on balance and preservation: “Light cannot exist without darkness, but darkness must never be allowed to consume the light.” They viewed their Purification ability as both a weapon and a sacred duty to cleanse hatred before it could destroy nations.
Every generation, the Fuyu and Yukigafuru Clans would select candidates to compete in rigorous trials for the title of Hyōkage (Ice Shadow). The winner would lead the village and carry the responsibility of protecting the hidden, ancient chakra pool deep within the Hyōga Mountains.
The Head of the Fuyu Clan also possesses a crystal necklace that is said to hold their ancestor who created the clan, Lady Fuyumi. Currently the crystal necklace is in the possession of Hisako's mother and it indicates who is the Head of the Clan. The crystal chooses it's bearer and if anyone else tries to wear it, the crystal will emit toxic chakra that will kill the wearer. However, when it chooses it's next bearer, it usually means the previous bearer will soon die.
The Title of Hyōkage:
Is currently with the current Yukigafuyu Clan leader who is leading the village to this day. A cruel lady bent on power. There was a civil war that forced the Fuyu Clan to flee the Glacier Village and find asylum in the Leaf. They were allowed in due to their ancient treaty with the Hyuga Clan. The Head of the Fuyu Clan, Hana, Hisako's mother, takes this defeat personally and expects Hisako to fix her error and bring the Fuyu Clan back to the Glacier Village one day.

The Fuyu Blossom — a delicate light-blue and white flower that grows exclusively in the Hyōga Mountain Range. Its petals shimmer like crystal or glass, reflecting light even in the darkest conditions. It is the clan’s official emblem and represents endurance, beauty in hardship, and the refusal to let winter (darkness) extinguish hope.

Extreme loyalty to family and village, so the betrayal in the North is hitting them particularly hard.
Strong emphasis on diplomacy and emotional intelligence
