Time Frame: Arrancarr Arc
Starting Location: Urahara's Shop

Story: The battle with the Arrancar has just started as they send an previously unplanned swarm of Hollows into the city. Reacting quickly the Gotei 13 dispatched to Karakura Town to aid the primary Earth defense line. The first one to arrive always lusting a fight was none other than Zaraki Kenpachi having smelt the turmoil of war and left before word even arrived.

Kyle stood on a roof of one of the neighboring buildings too Urahara's shop as he stared at sky and the swarm of hollows that rained down upon the city as a small smile crossed his face and he pulled a short silver rod from his back pocket.

"I hope those Shinigami can handle themselves cause that's a lot of hollows. Time to go to work."

The light blue blade of Seele Schneider then erupted from the tube as he gave himself a running start and leapt to another nearby roof top.

"Thanks for the tip Urahara..."
"Where's LeBlanc?"

"Drifted off again... the fool! We're supposed to stay together!"

Far away from the two Shinigami - both from Edwin's current division, the 9th, the effeminate male himself watched the hollows rain down from the skies from a rooftop. The same hollows that were leaving his comrades with their hands full soon.

"Oh my..." He would say in an indifferent tone. "What an ominous rain..."

It was actually his first battle of such proportions, but he was more than ready. He drew his zanpakuto, and held it in his left hand. With his right hand, he would point a snake-like hollow that was about to fall directly on him. "Hado 4. Byakurai."

The lightning bolt would pierce the creature's mask, destroying it instantly. Too bad there were hundreds more.

"An auspicious start."

He did not notice the stranger close by.
He gave Seele Schneider a quick twirl before once more leaping off the roof he ran across. This time however he jumped down into an alleyway bringing the blade of his weapon down across the front of a hollows mask who was lurking in the alleyway.

"Ok...enough of a warm-up...time to be serious."

He then used his free hand to pull up the hood on his trench coat casting his face into an ominous shadow as he stepped out of the alleyway and started walking calmly down the street his blade humming lightly as he did so. He silently slashed at another hollow that appeared in front of him taking it out as he continued forward.
As he finished off yet another hollow - again using hado - he looked around only to find himself surrounded. Edwin sighed, and returned his blade to his right hand. "Let's make this quick. I have business elsewhere."

He did hate fighting. The many hollows around him charged, and he dodged the incoming attack by jumping high. That's when he saw someone cutting his way towards him, someone with a strange blue sword. Changing his mind about the approach to take, his zanpakuto returned to his left hand, as he turned his palm at the hollows beneath him.

"Hado 31. Shakkaho."

The red blast and the explosion that followed would decimate those lesser hollows. When he landed on his feet, Edwin's attention was turned to the newcomer.

"And who might you be?"
He lifted his head slightly as his piercing blue eyes stared at Edwin in silence. After a moment he gave his weapon a quick twirl and thrusted it forward and just to the side of Edwins head taking out another hollow that had appeared just behind him.

"I'm a unique being shinigami. I am a Quincy...yet at the same time I am not...I'll properly introduce myself as soon as we get some breathing room."

He then pointed skywards at another mass of hollows that descended upon them.

"Any problems with my statement? I would hope not."

He then twirled Seele Schneider again as his right arm visible tensed up a bit.
He did not react to Kyle's 'attack' - the one that was actually aiming at the hollow. If he knew the beast was behind him and that Kyle would attack it, or if everything just went too quickly for him to react - no one would ever know. Either way, he would speak as if nothing had happened.

"I do not care for what you are. I only need to know if you're an ally or an enemy. And I am assuming you're an ally. No further words are necessary."

Quincy? Oh, he knew of them. Very well actually. But that one was the first he had ever met personally. But there was no time to think about that - there were hollows everywhere, and they just wouldn't stop showing up.
He looked skywards at the mass of hollows descended and smirked lightly.

"Ally is such a strong word. For this situation I'll settle for agreeing to the statement of 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'...yes. That will work for now due to our kinds history with one another."

He then propelled himself skywards and spun himself in a quick circle taking out 5 of the hollows in one go. Then swung his sword in a upwards arc taking out another one as the remainder of the mass closed in on him.

"Stubborn idiotic creatures..."
"They are, are they not? Making a civilized person draw his sword... how barbaric."

Surrounded by hollows, things didn't look good, but he'd be the last to admit it. He would blow up a couple of them with kido, but truth was, kido-based fighting wasn't as versatile was sword-based fighting... and he knew it very well.

He was not left-handed. He was wielding his sword in his left hand so he could perform his kido more easily.

Then he sighed... and for the third time in less than five minutes, he shifted his weapon to his right hand.
He sighed half heartedly himself before reaching down and pulling another silver rod from the holder on his leg as it too erupted with a blue blade. He then begun spinning about again swinging both Seele Schneiders about as he did cutting down the hollows as they enclosed on him. After a moment he dropped back to the ground and looked up at them.

"Your turn I presume? Have fun."
"So you make this a game? I am hardly a fighter. Alas, I have no choice..." Looking quite bothered, he didn't move as two hollows attacked him, side by side. A sword swipe would easily take care of them, but the Shinigami wasn't looking happy at all. Another attacking hollow would be stabbed, right in the mask... but it was clear the waves wouldn't stop coming.
He shrugged lightly as he watched him slice down the hollows.

"Well I don't wanna have all the fun myself. It is good to share once awhile."

He then leapt skywards using one of the hollows head as a spring board to propel himself higher just before Edwins sword cut it down. He then began slicing away at some of the further back hollows.
