No need to apologise

It's a grand strategy I think
Like age of empires etc?
I think so, though I've never played Age of Empires
Me either but I have seen adverts. As I said I'm not much of a gamer.

More of a reader.
What kind of genres are you into?
I love sci-fi and low magic fantasy.

Anything by Peter Hamilton

Uhmmm Jay Kristoff's Darkdawn trilogy. The Lies of Locke Lamora - stuff like that.
Locke Lamora mentioned, +5 friendship points earned.
Thanks Cadamir, *accepts points*

Locke Lamora and his Gentleman Bastards are one of my favourite reads ever! So cleverly written, I just wish Lynch would get off his arse and write quicker, been reading these books veeeeerrrrry slowly lol

If you liked Locke then try "The Thief who pulled on Trouble's Braids" by MIchael McClung. I think there's about six books, they're not long but are really compelling and amazing characterisation!!!

Patiently waiting for more GB has been very difficult, but at least he seems to be making some progress. I'd at least be happy when the short stories come out!

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out!
Well if you do audio books I'm fairly sure it's on those.

The main character is called Amra Thetys, she's a thief (obvs) but it think the whole series is named after her. You'll like it if you liked Scott Lynches stuff.
I do, Audible has the first two as one book so I added to my wishlist! Checked my library but they don't have it sadly.
Excellent! Let me know how you get on. I have loads of recommendations :)

Nevernight is good by Jay Kristoff and honestly, quite sexy...
That one my library does have in audio form. It's in use right now but I got a hold on it for when it's available. Probably get to that before the other one what with not having to spend money on it. 😂
It's part of a trilogy, do try to get all three, because it's very good.

I should perhaps do a book topic for recommends etc.
All my book recommendations would be from R.A. Salvatore or the stories by R.E. Howard. Most of the other series I know are mainstream like Game of Thrones or so obscure I can't find them even online. It would probably help if I could remember the author's names....
I'd probably recommend the Mortal Engines series. The books are interesting even if you're not super interested in the main focus of the stories (that being moving cities in a post apocalyptic world). There was even a film made of the first book in the original quartet, but it wasn't very good.

If book recommendations do become a topic, I have quite a few film recommendations if anyone's interested
@Daerthe - yes it's always good if you can remember the authors - I only remembered because I'm sat next to my bookcase lol

@Edward - I'd heard the books are far superior to the film, although I didn't think the film was that bad. Always made me thing of the Gardens in one of the Final Fantasy games, was it FF8?

Oohhh ok maybe a media recommends page then, books film and music!
Most of these were books I read in high school so I sadly don't have direct access to them.
As in from the school library?

I pick a lot of books up cheap off ebay to be honest.

So GOOD Books! Is now up in the media chat section. Feel free to add other thread topics

Yeah I lived in the middle of nowhere growing up so outside of the school library the nearest one was about a 30 ish minute drive.

I'll have to see what I can find on Ebay. I'm not sure if I'm remembering the titles of the books right.
