An orphanage miles from the nearest village -- previously a church of some kind, converted into what it is now. The staff provide care and attempts towards an education to the children who end up there, though many don't get any further than learning to read, if that far. Some children are taken here after being found on the streets or after the deaths of their parents, others come on their own.
The orphanage, however, is falling on hard times...
