Goal: 50k+
Progress: 500/50k
Content Warnings: Graphic descriptions of war (battle, etc.); episodes of PTSD; mental health themes, and sexual scenes will be within the story.
Title: The War is Over (The Tale of Scott and Summer)
Synopsis: Scott Smith was an all-American boy who excelled in athletics through school, and he joined the army after he graduated. He was deployed to Afghanistan, and Scott's life was never the same. He had grown up in an upper-middle class neighborhood in a town of around 20,000 population, and his best friend was Summer, a girl who lived next door. They did most everything together while growing up, and they officially began 'dating' in high school. This is their story.
Author Notes: I sort of wrote an outline for this a number of years ago but never really developed it. I had a brief but intense roleplay with Scott that helped me develop some aspects of his personality, but the relationship and some of the backstory needed revamping. I was inspired by a roleplay I am writing with another of my characters, and aspects of their backstory fits well into my original outline I had. I hope to use this exercise to bring more of this story to life.
