Title: I'm Not The Chosen One(working title)
Synopsis: An unremarkable middle aged woman is accidentally drawn into a fantasy world that she very clearly was never intended to encounter. As she travels through the world in search of a way home, she meets an eclectic cast of characters and is eventually drawn into a battle only she can fight, precisely because she was never meant to do it. The only reason she can hope to succeed is because she is Not The Chosen One.
Author Notes: I saw a prompt once about a motherly woman ending up in an isekai fantasy designed for a teenage boy and it sort of sparked my interest. It started as a way to poke fun at traditional isekai tropes but has since evolved to include ideas of self determination, toxic behavior and the sacrifices inherent in societal change. So that's been fun. We'll see where else it takes me as I write.

For the time being I'm writing my first draft in a Google doc just to make my life easier. I may post interesting tidbits here for others to read as things progress though. For now it is 30 minutes before midnight and I have hit my first daily goal of 1k words. Woot!

Allay - Beautiful and devoted priestess, Blonde, Lesbian, Indepth knowledge of the Chosen One lore and trials, Whole heartedly chugged the Kool Aid
Neriah - Temperamental, tsundre bandit fighting to defy her destined role, Red head, Heterosexual, Knowledge of nature and local geography, Combat skills, Helps the group stay off grid, Spat the Kool Aid out, stomped on the cup and pissed on the remnants
Rastelle - Attempted assassin turned ally, Blue hair, Gay, Knowledge of Sorcerer's capabilities and propaganda tactics, Combat skills, Trans FTM (eventually), Force fed the Kool Aid
Brue Liss - Run away princess, Black hair dyed purple, Asexual/Demiromantic, Knowledge of nobility, society and politics, Drank the Kool Aid solely because it was better than the alternative
Fern - Rescued slave girl, White hair, Heterosexual, Scholar and pre-Sorcerer historian, Knew what was in the Kool Aid all along and tried to warn people away from it

I have not given up! I'm still picking away! Time and responsibilities and exhaustion have taken their toll, but I soldier on. I think I may be lucky to hit 10k by the end of the month at this rate though. Ah well.
