His casual/non-game world outfit is often a pair of either cargo shorts or black jeans, a Kansas City Royals t-shirt or tank top, a pair of golden shoes, and a Royals hat. In the game world, Roy goes by 'Ace Ventura'. He wears a gold and blue Kansas City Royals themed armor that is based off of an old medieval English knight's armor. He wears four swords on him, two are hooked swords on his side, the other two are katanas on his back. In the game world, his hair is a bit longer and the same blonde color, it is often braided and parted in the center, sort of like Edward Elric's from Fullmetal Alchemist. His eyes in the real world are a kind, ocean blue color while in the game world they're a piercing, focused black color. Both the back of his shirt and his armor has a stylized '#30' on the back. He often wears a pair of golden leather gloves with a stylized 'Kansas' on the left glove and 'City' on the right glove.
In battle, Roy battles with a fast, defensive style. His attacks are often quick, rather weak slashes followed by a quick defensive stance. This allows him to strike fast, albeit weakly, and keep himself from taking much damage. He most often prefers to use his hook swords to disarm opponents, however he'll switch to the katanas if his hook swords fail to do much. In addition to his blades, he is a skilled mage that prefers fire and ice magic. He can often use them in combination with the swords. His speed and defensive skills are great, but his power is rather low. In the real world, he is rather adept at hand-hand.
Roy has a calm, caring personality with a love for battle. He enjoys hanging with people and often prefers to travel with at least one or two people. He has a crude sense of humor and has a bit of a foul mouth. He can be a cheesy flirt when he wants to, but will often keep his flirting to himself unless he potentially has a chance with the person he's flirting with. Roy was born in De Soto, Kansas and lived in the suburb of Clearview City until the age of five. At five years old, his family moved to Tokyo, Japan for reasons unknown. During the time in Kansas, he had developed a huge interest in sports, specifically the Kansas City Royals and video games, most particularly the Legend of Zelda franchise. While in the new country, he slowly began to learn the language and became rather fluent in Japanese by the age of eight. On his eighth birthday, his parents enrolled him in a kendo academy in which he excelled. He battles with a unique style that seems to be a mixture of how a baseball player moves, Link's moveset in Super Smash Bros. 64, and how an American football player moves. This provides him with a strong defensive game that is fast and rather unpredictable, though his power is rather low.
Upon turning seventeen and fine tuning his skills, he decided to try out the new game 'Sword Art Online'. Roy didn't seem to mind that the game was essentially a second life, actually he embraced it and lived life like normal. In the game, he runs a small bed and breakfast type place along with a three other players. They take turns running the shop and obtaining supplies. Roy and his friend Kai run it during the day, while Miroku and Eren tackle obtaining supplies and experience and their roles of reversed at night. Roy doesn't seem to be too interested in returning the real world and just wishes to make this world the real world in the future.
