March 23rd 2017, 4:00pm - March 26th 2017, 8:00pm

Underground fighting has become a staple of the establishment, a keen mix between the arena and the seedier underbelly that runs amok. Gambling, corruption, and good old fashion brawling until someone loses teeth on the flag stones the hearty mixture that makes up this sordid sport. But now the chaos is being reined into something of a proper competition to find out who's tough as nails and who isn't made of cast iron. The very first Fight Night Tournament is being held for your pleasure under the watchful command of the Gladiator Monstrum.
How To Play
The fights will follow a custom system that was created by the event host for another dream a few years ago. It is as followed.
At the start of the fight all competitors will roll a 1d20 to determine who will strike first. After an attack post, both the attacker and the defender will roll a 1d10 to determine if the hit landed or not. If the attack rolls a higher number than the defender, then the hit lands and they will then roll a 1d3 to determine how hard they hit, a one being a glancing blow, a two being a decent hit and a three being a heavy/stunning hit. If the defender rolls higher than the attacker then the attack misses and they move onto the next round.
There will be no health points to determine a victor. Instead, several IC judges will determine the winner based on several factors, including how well the fighters did during the fight, how many heavy hits they landed, and how well they seem to recover or react to their opponent. If there is a tie amongst the judges then the event holder will have the final say. If someone wishes to forfeit due to time constraints or other reasons then their character will be determined as knocked out by the opponent, who is automatically charged as the winner. If no one yields within the one hour time limit, then the decision will go to the judges. This system is known as semi-freeform.
The tournament is based on brawling and so no armor or weapons are allowed within the match. Magical seals will be placed around the cages to nullify any supernatural abilities or supernatural strength/stamina/dexterity so the fight is simply down to pure skill and luck.
However, for a fee of 10 gold, a spectator may 'bribe' the event holder into giving a fighter of their discretion a random weapon or piece of armor to aid them. This will not affect the dice in any way, but is simply to add an interesting narrative to the fights.
What do you get at the end of it? For losing...nothing. But the winner takes all with bragging rights, 100 platinum and 15 XP at the final match!
Rules
- All of TGT's general rules apply to this event.
- While it does not follow the official arena system, a ten minute post limit is still in place. First offense will result in a warning, second in losing a turn and a third in an automatic disqualification. If you take 25 minutes or more, then you will also be automatically disqualified.
- A post limit of one paragraph per character will be enforced to ensure the fights go quickly and smoothly, and that spectator posts do not drown out the fighter posts.
- Only the final match should be posted to the arena thread. Anyone attempting to post any other round for XP will have their posts deleted.
- If enough fighters join, they will be determined through random dice roll. Stand-ins are also available.
- The semi-freeform fights relies on the honor system. If your character takes a hit that would knock them out, say a three severity to the head as an example, there is the potential for your character to be knocked out by the attack due to the fact there is no health points. If you don't think your character will withstand it, please post in reference to that. While this rule will not be enforced it is heavily frowned upon and considered bad sportsmanship.
- If you would like to sign up, all you have to do is post with the alt name of the character below to be put into the tournament.
- If you would like to be a judge, please refer to this post here.
