Quote:
Very little is known about the culture of Guildereim's most savage native species, the naga, for they are a society that exists wherever civilization does not. What is known, gleaned from ruins and harrowing encounters is that they worship a pantheon of snake-gods and that their society is a tribal one.
"Every year on the Summer solstice, the Naga tribes gather on the beaches of Guildereim to fight for supremacy. Some consider the combat as a religious rite to honor Sej Kadar, the cobra god of war; others speculate that it might affect rights to certain hunting grounds. Each tribe selects a champion to join the ranks of the fighters; the vanquished are often killed outright, but if they should survive, they are sacrificed to appease the great cobra."
FIRST ROUND
Sej Kadar's Mercy
Blood is an important factor to naga culture. It contains power, fuels life. Within it is the knowledge of one's very being. For this reason, the fighters must paint themselves or their armor in fresh blood (or red paint) in whichever manner they like in an attempt to appease the cobra god and ask for his favor.
SECOND ROUND
The Blinding Eclipse
Eclipses are often a time of awe and fear for the naga, as they did not know if the sun would return to its original state. They would hold up reflective shields to try and harness the power of the sun before it faded, believing their tactic is what restored it to its former glory. The fighters will be given similar shields that they can use to blind or stun their opponents with. (PLEASE NOTE: Unless your character has a shield in their armor slots it will NOT be counted towards the armor bonus.)
THIRD ROUND
Final Fire Rites
At the end of the naga calendar, all fires would be extinguished. As night fell, a sacrifice would be made. Their heart would be pulled from their chest and in the cavity, a fire would be started. From there, a shaman would light a torch with this fire and make their way around the settlement, relighting the fires as a sign of a new cycle. For this final match, the warriors will be given a torch which they will need to hold onto while fighting. While keeping the fire alive they must fight off their opponent for a chance to light the bonfire in the center of the arena, signaling them as the tournament's Champion.

IMPORTANT NOTES
Blood of Sands requires the use of TGT Dice If you are unfamiliar with the dice system this tournament isn't for you, only those experienced with using the dice system should be taking part.
If you are unable to make a match you forfeit your position and a stand-in will take your place. If this happens in the quarterfinals, semifinals, or final matches, you forfeit and your opponent wins.
Please copy and paste the following in a reply window to this topic and fill out if you wish to take part in the tournament. If you don't fill out this form you won't be included in the matches.
Dice will be rolled to decide fighters for the matches. You have until 11th June to sign up.
ALL FIGHTERS MUST ARRIVE 20 MINUTES EARLY. If you are not there ten minutes prior to when the fight is supposed to start we will select a stand-in, even if you're only five minutes late, we're not going to wait for you. This is incredibly important for when using the betting system as the bets are done before the fight starts.
Please note that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR POSTING UP THE FIGHT LOG. Moderators will not post up fights for you, and tournament fights still follow the same three day rule as normal arena fights. Fights should be posted here on the forums in order to qualify for XP.

FAQ
I've never used the fight system before, can I enter the tournament?
We expect those that enter the tournament are familiar with the dice system. We cannot be teaching you how to use the system mid tournament fight. We will try our best to offer a dice tutorial before the event. If you've never used the system please arrange a tutorial with a staff member before the tournament begins.
Can we sign up for more than one match in the first round of matches?
Yes, but only two. For example, if you sign up for two different dates, you'll be added to the rolls for those particular matches. If you manage to be successful on the first date then naturally you won't be added to the second date.
Will there be XP made available?
YES. You are not allowed to do any official fights while you are participating in the tournament. Also, make sure that you haven't fought within the last week previous to your first fight. This is because you have to wait a week to gain XP. As an example: Minotaur Joe wants to fight on October 8th, he must make sure he doesn't enter an official fight after October 2nd because of XP. Your character should be spending this time to train for the Tournament, not get him or herself injured from fighting.
Do I get XP in the semi-finals even if it hasn't been more than the required week wait for XP?
Yes you do get XP. Tournaments are special in that regards. We don't want to stretch the fights over a month or more. But your character shouldn't be fighting whatsoever between the first round of matches, semi-finals, or finals. If your character is found doing so you may be required to forfeit your position in the tournament.
Something came up and I am unable to fight!
That means you give up your spot. If we have a stand in for the first round of matches, they will take your spot. If you are in the final or semi-final you forfeit and your opponent automatically wins. When the dates and times are decided on, they're set, we will not be changing the dates.
Can I be a stand in even if there are spots available?
Yes!
Can I fight in the next tournament if I was in the current one?
Yes, however only if you weren't the champion for the last tournament. Characters that win one tournament are required to sit out the next one to allow fair competition.
Can I sign up with more than one character?
No. Only one, otherwise it wouldn't be fair.
How are stand-ins decided?
If a spot opens up in one of the first matches and there are multiple stand ins available for that spot, we will roll dice to decide who gets to fill that spot up.
Who can join this tournament?
Everyone! The Summer Tournament is inspired by naga culture and festivals and is not exclusively for naga characters. Anyone of any race, creed, religion or skill may participate.
