    WHAT IS AN OCT? wrote:
The phrase “OCT” stands for “Original Character Tournament.” In an OCT, a set number of artists and writers compete against each other, usually in a single-elimination style bracket. This means that this is a competitive event, where only one person takes the victory. Artists enter a character into the tournament, and every round they create a story using their own character as well as their opponent’s character. Once the deadline for the round is over, a team of judges determines the winner based on a variety of factors, and the winner moves on while the loser is out of the tournament.
