Mission Status: Open

World #52113's remaining safe zone is an Earth world, one that shared its home and long history with a group of aliens known as Gems. Unfortunately, the inherent power in these beings means that once Corruption set into a segment of their population, it spread very quickly. When Homeworld, the origin planet of the Gems, was completely overtaken, the remaining members of its population fled to Earth, establishing a last bastion of resistance.

Three of the strongest members of this race, The Diamonds, set up shielding around an ocean side town known as Beach City using their own powers. This served to keep the rest of the Corrupted out, and as the Diamonds needed no food or sleep, and little rest, the shields were successful in doing so, keeping whoever had managed to make it to Beach City and its direct surrounding areas, safe. But the price was that none of them could leave or move from their stations. One moment of weakness would risk the whole thing coming down.

When the AotM arrived, some of Beach City's residents went with them to a somewhat more stable life in Sanctuary. Others became agents in a hope to find a way to drive back the Corruption and reclaim their world. Some stubbornly remain in Beach City though, and reluctantly the AotM has allowed civilians to come back and forth from this world and even establish residence, so long as they understand the risks.

Traveling beyond the shield is not advisable, and every returning party is always checked at an established gateway for Corruption. Any signs and they are turned away, or held in containment if it hasn't spread too far yet. But there aren't ever any guarantees of recovery.

Hazards & Important Notes

Avoid the flowering moss in Dead Man's Mouth in the spring time when it is trying to bloom. It grows quickly and can cover and suffocate organics easily. Anything outside of the shields around Beach City should be considered potentially Corrupted and extremely dangerous.

Danger Level 0 - Designated Safe World

Beach City has open public Gates and the areas within the bounds of the shield are considered safe for civilians.

Beach City's Gate is located in Little Homeworld's main square near the warp pad. This area's Colossus Gate is located at the base of Lighthouse Park

World #52113 accepts local currency and bartering.

Beach City's currency is easily identified by its snake and diamond motifs and comes in both paper and coins, and is otherwise Earth typical, specifically similar to most American money.

In terms of trade goods, Beach City and the piece of Delmarva that the Diamonds' shield protects has many of the fruits, vegetables, and other goods available in the American Mid-Atlantic. Beach City in specific has beach plums, wild strawberries, and pawpaws. It also has access to goods outside the shield, though adventuring for them can be extremely risky. Corrupted humans are dangerous enough, but there are Gems that have been taken over by the Corruption as well roaming the wilds and cities beyond the barrier.

Interested parties are permitted to leave the shielding providing they sign a waver stating they understand the risks, and that they may not come back at all. Those returning are always checked for Corruption. If they have been infected, they are placed in quarantine to see if they can fight it off. If it's already taken them, they're prevented from returning.

World #52113's most common species are humans, Gems, and Gem augmented animals.

As Beach City is on Earth, its most common species tends to be humans. Gems are also common. They are a crystalline based life form whose consciousness is housed in a gemstone, and whose physical forms are complex holograms projected from that gemstone which are capable of very convincingly mimicking organic systems.

There are also several native animals species, such as lizards and fish that seem to have been tampered with extensively by Gemkind in various ways. Consuming these animals is recommended only with extreme caution. Effects, short term and long term are still unknown.

Getting around Beach City is fairly easy. It's fairly walkable, and the roads are still in good condition if you can find the fuel.

Beach City's status as a vacation town means that it's very walkable. Many of its attractions and storefronts can be found on or near the boardwalk, and as fuel must be scavenged for or imported, most do choose to walk.

But many of Beach City's residents do have cars, and the roads remain fairly driveable. With the help of the AotM, the locals have been keeping up with repairs, and there's even a popular hill that they like to have (dubiously legal) races on.

Fuel and more vehicles can be found outside of the safety of the barrier, and occasionally individuals venture out to procure parts from them or entirely new cars if they can manage to hotwire them and get them back. Some of the roads outside of the barrier are driveable, but others have been clogged with abandoned vehicles. Your mileage, literally, will vary.

Warp pads-- teleportation devices once used by Gems-- are common sights around Beach City and the rest of world #52113, but they have all been either destroyed or deactivated to prevent Corrupted Gems from using them to breach the barrier.
