About
Elphaba is a Witch from the land of Oz who has suffered unrelenting strife and discrimination because of her emerald-green skin. Even being the daughter of the Governor of Munchkinland offered her no reprieve. As such, Elphaba has grown a thick skin and a sharp tongue, meeting adversity with a fiery temper and a quick wit. Despite the endless mockery and insults, Elphaba holds deep within her a strong moral compass and a compassionate heart and will fight ferociously for what she believes is right. She is a stalwart advocate for Animal rights and for a long time, her only companion was her Bear nanny, Dulcibear.

From a very young age, Elphaba had demonstrated a talent for magic, and such talent caught the attention of the Sorcery professor, Madame Morrible. Morrible insisted Elphaba attend Shiz University, who then took Elphaba under her tutelage and taught her everything she knew of the arcane arts. It was at Shiz that Elphaba met her first true friends: the bubbly bright pink Galinda, as well as a budding and tentative romance with the handsome, swankified prince Fiyero.

It had been Elphaba's life-long dream to meet the Wizard of Oz, whom she had admired since she was a child for his legendary power and kindness. She believed that if she earned his favor, he would grant her heart's desire: the wish to have normal skin and to live a normal life. And after finessing her magical powers, her dream became a reality and she was granted an audience with the Wizard. But everything went wrong. The Wizard had no real power. He was a fraud, a liar, and he was cruel. He was imprisoning Animals so they would no longer speak and causing the Animals of Oz great harm. Enraged, Elphaba swore vengeance against the Wizard, and became the greatest enemy Oz had ever known.

But the odds were stacked against her, and Elphaba suffered loss after loss. After years of fighting, Elphaba realized her battle was an impossible one. After losing her sister to the hands of a cyclone conjured by Morrible, Elphaba realized there was no choice left but to admit defeat, leaving Oz's future in the hands of her best friend, Glinda the Good. With the help of her love, Fiyero, she faked her death and fled into the wastelands beyond Oz's borders known as The Badlands, where she and Fiyero planned to live out the rest of their lives in peace and happiness.

But peace and happiness did not last. The Corruption came for Oz like it came for everything else, and for all of Elphaba's power, there was nothing she could do to save the only home she ever knew. In a confusing twist of events, Elphaba found herself transported to The Omphalos, a world between worlds. Though initially distrustful of the organization, the danger to countless worlds and lives was too great to ignore, and Elphaba knew what she needed to do: fight with everything she had to save the universe from the Corruption.



Typical Appearance

Elphaba has emerald-green skin. Her face has sharp, angular features and she has a thin, tall frame. She is limber and lean with long black hair, usually tied back in a braid or bun. She typically wears dark colors like black and navy blues, and wears a tall pointed black hat. Always has in her possession a satchel which holds the Grimmerie, her spellbook that she uses for her most powerful spells.


Gear & Extras
Elphaba came to The Omphalos with very little in her possession. Her most essential items are held within her satchel, which is enchanted to hold much more than it appears it should (basically a Bag of Holding) Within her satchel are a few of her own notes and journals, including an alchemy kit for making potions and a few survival essentials. She also possesses a broomstick that allows her to fly (the Kansas brat stole her original broom but Elphaba made another).

Her most prized possession, however, is the Grimmerie. The Grimmerie is an ancient, powerful spellbook that amplifies Elphaba's own magic and allows Elphaba to perform magic well past what she's capable of her own. However, such power has its cost, and any spell from the Grimmerie has a steep price to pay. Resorting to the Grimmerie's magic is a last resort.

Magical Prowess
Elphaba is an extraordinarily powerful Witch, with specialties in levitation and fire magic. She can move small objects with ease and she even has a broomstick she can fly around on. She can conjure fire with a snap of her fingers and can control active flames. She is capable of other feats of magic, like minor illusion charms and sleep spells.

Potions
Magic isn't just incantations and words on a page. Elphaba has training in potion-making, and with the right reagents, she can craft a variety of potions, from healing balms to sleep concoctions to potions to protect from the elements. This takes time and expensive resources, so her capability will be limited to what she can find.

Scrying
Elphaba is able to spy on anyone of her choosing from any distance using a crystal ball or mirror, provided she knows the person she is attempting to seek. She must have either the name, the face, or a personal affect, though ideally any combination of the three would be best. A person versed in magic or has sensitivity to magic might be able to sense her scrying, however. Elphaba can see and hear the subject of her scrying as well as everything in the immediate vicinity but her view is limited to an approximate 15 foot radius.

Flying
Elphaba has a magic flying broom that allows her to fly at great speeds and circumvent nearly any hazardous terrain. The broom is not remarkable beyond that and can still be damaged or broken. Thankfully, Elphaba has memorized the incantation to craft another one should things go awry.

Premonitions
Once in a blue moon, Elphaba can be struck with a sudden, intense Vision. Elphaba has no control over them; she can neither force one to happen on command nor dismiss a Vision when it comes. These Visions are glimpses into the future, usually lasting only a few seconds and are typically nothing more than brief, cryptic images. These events are usually warnings of danger or disaster, but the Vision can be so jarring and fleeting it is hard to make proper sense of them. When Elphaba does receive a Vision, there is no promise she will have the knowledge, context, or even time to respond or prevent it, and as such, these premonitions are more bane than boon.


Only Human
Despite all her magical prowess, Elphaba is still a normal human being and can be injured by conventional means. She is not weak to water. She does not melt when doused in water. Who started that ridiculous rumor? It's not true, stop spreading that nonsense, it's embarrassing.


Wild Magic
Elphaba's magic is tied to her emotions. As such, when Elphaba experiences extreme stress or any other heightened emotion (rage, grief, etc) she can lose control and her magic will go wild. Her magic will lash out in unpredictable ways and can harm those around her. As such, Elphaba has taught to control her emotions to prevent such a violent outburts, but accidents will happen . . .

▼ -5 Points - Elphaba has gained a reputation as an agent who has a bit of a temper after assaulting a vendor in Sanctuary's Scrapyard Market and releasing all of his stock into the market at large. He was not very well liked, but some of the other vendors in the area have been giving her the hairy eyeball since.
