Limits & Triggers
Triggers Triggers are serious things. These are anything that would absolutely ruin your day if you happened to accidentally read them. You need your partners to be extra careful in not including these in roleplays with you. Please remember though, that it's also your responsibility to inform them of these in the planning stage. ⚠ Drug use Drug addiction and the effects on those who care about them can be very triggering for me. If I am given a warning and what will happen is discussed prior to the event, I can usually manage around it, but I prefer to avoid it if possible. ⚠ Significant betrayal from trusted companion If a character is friends/partners/romantic with someone and a significant betrayal happens, I would like to have some warning prior to it just happening. This ensures I am in a good mental headspace and able to accommodate writing high-intensity emotions. ⚠ Harming children Just please no. ⚠ Domestic abuse/pedophilia/sexual assult All of these and the effects on those who care about them can be very triggering for me. If I am given a warning and what will happen is discussed before the event, as well as keeping it vague, I can usually manage around it, but I prefer to avoid it if possible. Squicks Squicks aren't quite as serious as triggers. They may just gross you out or make you kind of uncomfortable, and you'd prefer to avoid them if possible, but they won't say, trigger a panic attack. Coming across these may just make you go, 'oh come on, gross!' 🦠Intense Injuries Detailed injuries can be a bit iffy for me, but if it's generalized, I can usually handle it. Limits Limits are personal rules you'd like to set for roleplaying with you that may not fit anywhere else. Things like, 'let's check in if our characters start arguing badly', or 'let's plan out the outcomes of character vs character battles before they start' would be good things to put here. 💭Heavy emotions If high emotions arise lets check in to make sure we are all good, IC and OOC. 💭My character's opinions are not my own Sometimes characters may have rough backgrounds that cause them to have harsh opinions. These opinions do not reflect my own. If you are unsure or feel that I am upset, please check in. |
