△ Handy-man skills, Handy in a fight, Hard-working, Genuinely trying to be a better person ▷Doesn’t ask too many questions, Can be single-minded with tasks, Flirtatious, Stubborn, Charming when he wants to be, Tanky, Impulsive ▽ Apathetic, Sad Drunk, Stress Smoker, Temperamental, Vengeful (though less so nowadays), Tired (™) About Raz is a tired old dragon in search of something to believe in. He’s lived a life of rage and hate for so long that it feels strange to give life a second chance. To look for a second chance for himself. Though plagued by addiction and an occasionally terrible temper, he knows that he needs to change. He doesn’t really have a hoard, many friends, or a real plan for how he’s going to prove that he’s not the same monster he used to be. But every baby step forward is an attempt to do just that. Protecting people is a good way to start. Typical Appearance 6’8” - 270lbs - EYE COLOR: Blue - HAIR COLOR: Dark brown In human form, Raz is a strapping 6’8,” well-built man with broad shoulders and a terra-cotta skintone. He has jaw-length, dark brown hair with a fair bit of stubble and a bit of a beard and a mustache. His eyes are a piercing blue, which only gets more vibrant the closer he comes to dragoning out. His skin has a smattering of scars from scuffles over the years, and there are two large scars on his back representative of where he lost his wings in dragon form. Deep scars both psychologically and physically. He usually tires to keep his facial expression bland/carefully neutral. In dragon form, he stands at about 7’6” at the shoulder with brown and russet scales. He’s got a medium-length, thick neck and broad torso. His four legs are muscular, his arms ending in hand-like fingers and claws that he can use to pick things up and manipulate objects. The claws on his back feet are no less deadly. Raz’s tail is long and ends with a few sharp spikes like a stegosaurus. His eyes are a more electric blue in dragon form. His head is wedge-shaped with a mouth full of sharp teeth. There are two sets of black horns jutting forward on his head: two larger horns at his temples, and two slightly smaller ones by his jaws. A line of sharp spines grow down the ridge of his spine from head to tail-tip. He has no wings. Just a pair of deep scars that reach from his shoulders to just past his hips. They’re fully healed but he sometimes complains of phantom pain. Gear & Extras Raz tends to dress in plain but serviceable clothes. He tends to work hard and play hard so his clothing needs to keep up. He’s more likely to be wearing work boots than sneakers, and if he had to decide on a prized possession, it would be his toolbox or his guitar (both of which he ended up leaving behind). He carries his wallet with him everywhere, which has a decent amount of cash in it at any given time; he’s made an awful lot of money over the centuries and this is as close as he has to a hoard. Phone, truck keys, and earbuds would also be fairly standard. Probably an emergency pack of cigarettes as well.

![]() ▲ Superhuman In human form, Raz has superhuman senses and strength. Sight and smell are the strongest senses, with hearing coming in a close third. He could lift a truck or a minivan and throw it a far distance, and if necessary, his strong legs can give him a slight advantage of speed. His skin retains a scale-like durability, though he’s certainly not indestructible. He’s still a tank and can take a hit. Raz is hardier than the average human as well with a robust constitution. ▲ Dragon Raz can shift at will between his human and dragon form. His dragon form is bigger and stronger. Whatever he’s wearing just kinda melts into the dragon form and unfurls when he changes back. As the dragon form is technically his true form, Raz must spend at least an hour every day in dragon form or he starts to get cranky. ▲ Power of Lightning Whether in human or dragon form, Raz has the ability to breathe a stream of lightning. He also has limited ability to manipulate lightning and electricity. He can’t call it down from the sky, but he can send jolts of it elsewhere. Sometimes he uses it when doing handy-man work or to very carefully charge electronics. His affinity for lightning also makes him more resistant to electrical damage. Another dragon’s lightning breath would likely leave a mark, but mundane storm lightning is manageable. ▲ Draconic Telepathy Raz grew up able to communicate telepathically with other dragons or those with dragon blood. He’s had training to help shield his mind from the mental presence of others, but it’s not a perfect shield. ▲ Jack of All Trades Raz has had centuries to learn various trades. He’s not a master of any but he can get by with several. As a handy-man, he can fix basic issues with assorted appliances and electronics, and his time working with wood means he can fix your cabinets or shelves. He can do some basic coding, drive construction vehicles, play guitar, and mix a mean drink ▼ Grounded Raz is a dragon with no wings. This puts him at a disadvantage against many others of his kind. He can climb, but it’s not the same. ▼ My Back! Raziel’s back is technically fully healed from his injuries when he was younger, but it’s still a sore spot for him both figuratively and literally. Bringing up the scars is uncomfortable; bringing up his inability to fly is painful; landing a physical blow to his scar areas can be excruciating, even if just because of the unaddressed psychological trauma of the original injury. He will fight through the pain, but likely in a wilder, less organized way. ▼ Addiction is a Heck of a Thing Raz has had many many many years to try all kinds of different experiences. Unfortunately, some of them are harder to shake than others. He’s not in immediate danger of drinking himself to death, thanks to a beefier constitution, but it’s not pretty when he gets going. The more stressed he is, the more likely he is to want to smoke as well. ▼ I’ll Show You Temper Raz has gotten much better about his temper over the years. He really has! But his fuse is still fairly short compared to some folks, and depending on the topic, it can go really fast. More prone to reacting physically than verbally when he snaps. ▼ Persistent Nightmare Ever since his little brother’s death, Raz has been haunted by nightmares about it. About not being where he was supposed to be, about not being able to stop it, and about the aftermath. He wasn’t physically there to witness it, but he heard Phelan’s death scream. They don’t happen every night, but when they do, they do not make for a good night’s rest. Also makes him not the best bedfellow when he wakes up potentially thrashing in the middle of the night. History It’s not very well known, but the incident with St. George slaying a dragon was an act that was later attributed to St. George. An act that was originally attributed to one Saint Theodore Tiro. And St. Theodore’s martyrdom in 306 CE? Immolation at the hands of the local temple for believing in Christianity? More like near disintegration at the hands of the slain dragon’s vengeful older brother. That dragon was Raz. The day young Phelan died was the end of life as Raz knew it. He’d hatched at a time that was still fairly early on in human history. Dragons and Fae and other mythical creatures still roamed wild and free, but as human civilizations developed and their technology and weapons became more and more sophisticated, the supernatural beings of the world began to worry. The Fae already had a solution: the Realm of the Faerie. With their help, and the help of other magically adept beings, the rest of the supernatural beings could safely go into hiding in their own little realm. A young, impetuous Raz spent a last night out on the town, chasing local young men and women. He was supposed to be watching his younger brother Phelan. Phelan had followed Raz into the city, and that’s where he was captured and slain by Theodore Tiro. Enraged by the death of her youngest son and the neglect on the part of her eldest, Raz’s mother punished him by forcibly removing his wings and banishing him from the sanctuary granted to the other supernatural beings. It was assumed that he would die from his wounds and that would be that. But he didn’t die. After he had punished Theodore Tiro and passed out from the pain, a family of friendly fae adopted him and hid him from the world in the Realm of the Faerie. He was out of it for a long time, and it took a few years before he dared visit the human world again. When he did, he was bitter. He was vengeful. He hurt a lot of people, in subtle and very not subtle ways, taking it out on humanity at large for what happened to him and Phelan. It took centuries to learn to live with humans with any degree of normality, and a few more centuries before he learned to appreciate them. He’s seen empires rise and fall, seen war and famine. Seen times of peace and prosperity. He’s worked odd jobs around the world, most notably as a shipwright (earning his last name) and as a handyman for the last handful of decades. His favorite period of time was as a cowboy (and occasional bandit) in the newly added American West. His favorite job has perhaps been as security at a few different clubs and bars. When an on-again-off-again friend went missing, he followed her tracks and ended up following her through a Rift. Life in Sanctuary took some getting used to and it took a lot more convincing to get him to join the Agents of the Multiverse, but he functions better with a purpose. He needs work to keep him occupied and better helping people at the Omphalos than something much worse in Harbor, where he knew his vices would be all too accessible and his worst habits encouraged. He felt better knowing he could at least put years of security work to good use. ![]() |
