[Can't figure out how to post as player]
Hullo, Lore here! I'm very much excited by this concept, and with Inspiration holding all my braincells hostage I wanted to reach out and see if anyone wanted to do some in-character meetings and either expound on prior acquaintances [in terms of timeline], or make new friends.
I have Tamarisk or Landers, both who are deeply ingrained in the security running side of the facility, but are not wholly separate from the research side.
I'm open to ideas

Can't post as your player self unless your player self is a group member, I believe.
And yeah, kinda same here, but haven't really known how to start or anything.
I'd expect Alchemy here to be most involved with Research (for obvious reasons) but also probably Maintenance once established enough to be trusted - which could be tricky to achieve when its usefulness is so readily matched by both the potential damage it could do and how difficult it can be to be assured they have control over it as opposed to just trusting it to cooperate.
Tamarisk would clearly be Gregor's boss, but not sure how well they should know each other already, nor how much Gregor might still be going through the motions of seeming in any way pleasant to work with. I've never gotten to play him with any coworkers/supervisors who weren't just NPCs before.
I've also been wondering if the MTF has any involvement in how Expendable missions go, or if that's entirely organized by Research. So I'm not very sure who, as an Expendable, Aelyss might be familiar with.

In order to post as just your writer profile in a group you must join the group as just your profile. Doesn't really matter though. We see you.
I brought in several characters I'm happy to throw around in various manners. Xip here is a reporter who I plan to have working under cover as a maintenance worker, trying to expose the evils of the Laboratory. Even evil empires need their toilets cleaned, and no one looks twice at the woman scrubbing the alien goo off the floor while they exposit.
I also have Ellovalla, a strange alien medical professional, specifically a surgeon with no eyes. Kind and compassionate, not something you might think to find working for such an organization.
And Vette (Corvette). She's a snarky, sarcastic, unprofessional but extremely intelligent (and emotionally damaged) biochemist trying to get her grant money while pretending she doesn't have a conscience.
Happy to create places people could find my characters for introductory interactions.

Kind of suspected after reading her profile.

SHHH IT'S A SECRET
I have the director who can organize a meeting between different parties if necessary. Sylvie herself is not very personable though haha

Okay good, it's not my technological incompetence causing my confusion that's good. [Well it sort of was but not the point-]
Anyway. It could be interesting to do something with Alchemy though my ideas are a bit vague, and we could brainstorm more on the Gregor situation. I have a few ideas relating primarily to research staff, set more or less during some sort of transport or experiment where an entity is still under surveillance.

Ideas include;
- conversations during preparations for transport or further study of an entity. Involves briefings and could extend to include entity characters.
- conversations during study, especially if things go poorly but not required.
- hallway conversations

For the moment, Corvette is the only researcher character yet, though Aelyss would very much appreciate opportunities to help with research. I wouldn't mind backing things up to Aelyss' early days of being studied and having to prove they're reliable, either.
Early study of Al could be interesting. The critter would probably kinda freak people out for awhile, just because of its capabilities. As folks realize that it's really pretty docile, study could still prove interesting - potentially kind of cute, actually, with it becoming almost like a game to see what limits it might have. Any stage also has the potential to turn a bit horrific on one or more sides, such as exploration of what what it actually dislikes, or study that would show its ability to "consume" living things and/or only "produce" non-living things (especially since it'd be starting out relatively clueless about how things work or that concepts like "morality" or "ethics" exist at all).
Gregor can be tricky to do a lot of things with because he's rather antisocial, but then again, that could also be used to start a conversation if, like, there's concern about his ability to properly work with a team or something. Heck, could even be that actions he took on some recent mission put others at risk (possibly even led to someone being injured or killed) to prioritize mission success.

I have plans to start a few threads with my characters. Hopefully this weekend. This week has just been very busy so writing time has been sparse.

Ooooo mid-stage Al or any point Gregor sounds fun. Chasing the Gregor idea, I like that a lot. Perhaps he left part of his squad to accomplish a task on his own, which he did succeed at certainly but it caused other issues?

That 100% sounds like something he'd do. Maybe we should see about pinning down some more of the details of what happened in discord or something, so we don't clutter stuff up too much here? Stuff like:
- Did he just leave them behind in a (relatively) stable situation, or was he abandoning them in trouble?
- Was the task ultimately completed successfully? (And at least something about what it even was, probably.)
- Were there actually any casualties, or just some complications?
- What other issues were caused? Could see supply, transportation, or communications issues arising easily enough, like if he took something the squad needed.
- Where is the convo happening? I'd guess Tamarisk's got an office, but I could also see him being the sort to think "oh I just catch 'em somewhere and don't make a big deal of it, maybe it won't feel as scary as formal discipline."
Ha, could also see it being an issue of Gregor took supplies from security to go off and stop something that was already getting away, so Tamarisk also had to deal with Landers.
