Spectremon is a fairly one-track digimon whose life is dedicated toward a competitive need to be the best fighter. Despite their dark attributes, they are a fairly neutral individual, though they can be swayed in either direction if the end result was an improvement to their fighting capability.

Spectremon is typically an above-average digimon, particularly in their in-training and rookie guises, where their capabilities rival the bottom rungs of the those of a digivolution above. This early edge quickly disappears by their champion form, which is fairly average when not taking into account training. Even so, Spectremon still manages to rank highly in their later digivolutions on account of their fierce training regimen and determination to improve themselves.

Though Spectremon has a fragile ego that is easily hurt by a loss against a combatant they believe they should be able to defeat, they lack any real sense of entitlement on account of the fact that much of their strength comes from effort and investment rather than background. They have no time for individuals with a sense of entitlement. Very much a believer in meritocratic systems, Spectremon values capability as the main signifier of an individual's worth; though naturally, they over-regard the worth of combat ability for any position of power (though they don't outright ignore more relevant skills, particularly when comparing a warrior lacking in other skills with a highly skilled individual with poor combat ability).

Spectremon has little time for rules and morality. Especially when those things stand in the way of their goals. That being said, they do have a sense of loyalty and can form social connections, often putting their goals in conflict with their emotions. Whilst they can easily lie to get what they desire, Spectremon can also be painfully honest and blunt.

It's not to say that Spectremon can't genuinely be turned toward good or evil. They are as impressionable as any other individual and can pick up values and viewpoints from those they surround themselves with. However, controlling them and convincing them to follow rules can be a chore at any time. Thankfully, Spectremon isn't very materialistic or cruel, so their most common criminal acts would likely include trespass and the theft of food.

Spectremon has the tendency to challenge anyone who seems remotely tough to a fight. Anyone who turns a fight down will have their wishes respected (though they won't stop them from trying again later); though Spectremon is quick to take certain actions as a challenge to fight that others might not necessarily view as consent.

Given digimon biology, Spectremon finds it tiresome that the majority of digimon fall into gender roles. Thus, Spectremon is staunchly agender in identity and is often confused or offended by anyone trying to apply gender to them. They find lecherous behaviour to be especially distasteful.
