    Castian is a member of the Pravda species, a race of time and space traveling Celestials inhabiting semi-mortal bodies. These creatures are marked by their body's method of recycling itself at death, to be used by the next Pravda to inhabit that body. As they have been completely separate beings for the last 15,000 years, the species is only now beginning to regain their true memories and nature, leading many to take on the names of the past, such as Castian.

    During the period of time known as the 'Genesis', there were 17 different variants of this line, known as the Crimsonwind lineage due to the first name it took upon losing its memories. After the completion of his Ascension Trials, the variant known as Vindur ascended to reclaim his name of Castian.
