Azereus

Heng doesn't divulge much about himself, and many can't help but speculate about him. Behind his turned back, some whisper that he's made a pact with the devil. The man is indescribably rich and is shrouded in secrecy. Nobody can know exactly where the wealth came from.

There is no linage of family wealth, and his involvement with any businesses is hidden from sight. There is a regal air around him, otherworldly confidence, wisdom and grace. He is a man who knows he has power. He thinks lowly of ignorance and frivolity, and the people around him, even the wisest and richest amongst them, are so very ignorant and frivolous.

He would never speak of his past, except to somebody who he truly trusts. His true name is Azereus and the truth is that he is truly ancient. One of the first, and final remaining dragons. He is fire. He is its heat, fury, passion and power. It runs through his veins, and with its ferocity he consumes and takes what he deserves. From a physical standpoint, he can tolerate much higher temperatures than humans, and his body temperature is subtly higher as well.

Dragons are known to sleep on a pile of gold and gems. Heng is no exception. He has a lust for money and valuable objects that can never truly be satiated.

He is very intelligent, well versed in ancient folklore, customs and the arts. He is not 'well learned' in history. He lived history. If you're on neutral terms with him, he is polite and a good conversationalist, but capricious like the flames, his temperament can change on a whim. Once angered, the flames burn furious and hot. Needless to say, Heng is also very proud. He is a dragon, and dragons are only a single step below gods. Despite this, Heng is not a brutal man. While you can't deny he thinks himself superior to the common races, he does not relish in pain and destruction. His lust is for money, not for bloodshed.

Heng takes three main appearances.

First is an entirely human-shaped form, which he uses when he's forced to interact with humanity. He takes on the appearance of an Asian man with high cheekbones and long black hair. In this form he either wears traditional Chinese garb or tailored Western suits, depending on what the situation calls for. He considers mass-produced or casual clothes to be beneath him. There is a large tattoo of a dragon covering most of his back. He cannot disguise his aura, and creatures who are see or feel it would be able to easily identify him as a dragon or as having an affinity to fire. In addition, he retains his resistance to fire. It is the least favourite of his usual forms.

Second is a half-way point between his human and dragon form, where he takes on some features of his native form. He retains his horns, his hair becomes an otherworldly shade of silver and his eyes gold. He may choose to have flecks of white scales adorning his skin - especially on his hands where he can admire them. His dragon tattoo also remains in this form. He will take on this form when he is in his home with his serving staff. He'd prefer to be in his 'true form' but finds himself somewhat a prisoner in the world. He can hardly take to the skies or bathe in the rivers without being spotted by humans. This is a suitable compromise, where he can show-off what he truly is, without the threat of being exposed to the world.

The final form is one he almost never takes any more, a 20 metre long Asian serpent, shining white scales, billowing silver mane, a visible aura of flame. Heng is actually considered a little weak by dragon standards, more interested in money and behind-the-scenes dealing than true destructive power.

Classic Arts and Sword Combat
Heng has had many centuries to master classic swordsmanship, poetry and painting. And when he is alone he is often partaking in one of these three hobbies. He has no desire to sell his work, but is known to give it as gifts to people he is particularly close to.

Fire Manipulation and Magic
A dragon is fire, and he is capable of controlling flame as it is a part of his body. Although as part of hiding his true nature, he tends to not do a whole lot of flashy flame-breathing and fire shaping in public spaces.

Resistance to Heat
Heng is a creature of fire. Not only does hot weather not bother him, but his hot blood keeps him warm when the temperature drops. He can handle hot objects with ease, and he can withstand exposure to fire.

Flight
In his dragon form he is capable of flying long distances. Many years ago, he could fly across continents with nothing but legend to speak of it. These days there's cameras, aircraft and the control systems they utilise to make this a very overt method of transport. A private jet will do.

Dragon’s Blood
His blood, when consumed by other races gives an adrenaline-like burst of clarity. People claim their vision sharpens, the world appears to move in slow motion and their strength increases. Heng does not appreciate being used as a dragon-blood repository and doesn’t give it out freely. Needless to say, consuming his own blood will does not affect him in the same way. People say that consuming a dragon’s heart will empower you with great strength – Heng is not keen to put that to the test.

Wealth
Heng is wealthier than most people can even imagine. In days gone, this was literal piles of gold and treasure, but today it is numbers hidden behind shell companies and false identities. Heng isn't the kind to show it off, he doesn't hold big parties, and wears modest clothing of high-end crafting.

Human Form
In his human form any injury he takes is as devastating as it would be to a human. If gravely injured he may be forced to take his dragon form to survive.

True Name
True names hold power, and knowing Heng's gives you a lot of control over him, and would force him into a role of servitude. He will stop at nothing at keeping this name a secret.

Privacy
Heng is a highly private person, partially as a survival technique. A lot of people wish to exploit his true nature, whether it be for his blood, for his money or some other selfish desire. As a result, Azereus has a reputation for being aloof and secretive. He does not make flashy shows of his true nature and keeps it a closely guarded secret.

Greed
Like many dragons, Heng's wealth will never satisfy. He will stop at nothing to increase his hoard, even if the means of doing so are highly immoral. If the potential gains are great enough, he will even put himself at great risk.
