  Background

  
  Cäcilie was born to the premier blacksmith of her clan, and grew up around armor and weaponry. She might have become a skilled blacksmith herself, but her father was a hard man made even harder when her mother died in childbirth around the time she was 7, and Cäcilie chaffed under his harsh tutelage. It was much more pleasant to borrow some of those blades he made and go practice fighting, which she turned out to have an exceptional talent for. Eventually her father shifted all of his attentions to her brother and left her to this pursuit.
  
  Though she felt a bit bad at first, both for shirking her father's expectations and for inadvertently pushing him off on poor Axel, she knew the path she was meant to walk was a bit different from theirs. Despite, or perhaps partially because of her almost complete lack of ability when it came to the Terran's traditional talent of moving and shaping earth Cäcilie quickly made a name for herself in the military thanks to her incredible martial prowess and mastery of melee combat.
  Then when she was 19 Cäcilie stumbled into a brave Ingenium doctor healing people on a battlefield - a man by the name of Eric Ó Síodhacháin. She was struck by how immediately comfortable she was with him, despite how opposite their paths seemed to be in many ways. It seemed obvious to her he was her soul mate, placed directly in her path as if the Goddess herself had reached down and moved them.
  
  A year later they were married, and since then Cäcilie has travelled with Eric as he did his work, occasionally joining the people of her homeland for battle when the opportunity arose, but otherwise content to follow where Eric led. When, at 23, they visited Aer (ugh) and Eric somehow ended up adopting one of their dragons, Cäcilie was at first very skeptical, but Geneva quickly grew on her.
  
  For the last five years or so now the three spent their time in Ingenium while Eric fulfilled a promise he made long before. Keeping one's word is something Cäcilie very much approves of, but hopefully they'll be able to travel again before too long.
