  • Backstory

    Growing up in a family of poaching Moonkeepers, Cena was unsure who amongst the Fairen tribe was her mother. Even guessing who her father could be was impossible. She cared little for others, and rarely interacted with anyone outside of her tribe.

    That all changed when she had seen sixteen summers and traveled to Limsa Lominsa for the first time. While selling the various leathers and hides she had helped tan, she met Tahzah’a. He was golden haired and skinned like a Sunseeker with a Limsan accent, to boot. However he was indeed a Moonkeeper with an oddly Doman last name. Enthralled by just how much of a strange mix he was, Cena quickly became infatuated with him. After several more encounters, they decided to act upon their growing love, and were wed in a simple, private ceremony.

    After taking his last name in unusual fashion, Cena officially denounced her clan’s ways.

    There was no place for Tahzah’a amongst her tribe. However, Cena was not cut out for the life of a sailor. They both agreed to use the skills they had learned through their different lifestyles to become sell-swords.

    Choosing to pick up work primarily from the Adventurer's Guild in Gridania, the pair lived a nomadic lifestyle on the outskirts of the city. After the birth of their first child, Kirin, they settled down near the Hawthorne Hut for a time. It wasn't long until Callashel then later Andilynn were both born.

    One stormy night when Andilynn was no more than two summers old, she vanished without a trace. Cena and Tahzah’a searched for her endlessly to no avail. Heartbroken by this mysterious and tragic loss, both parents became overly protective of their two remaining children. Andilynn was not mentioned again to either Callashel nor Kirin, as their grief was immeasurable even years later.

    Cena believed Andilynn was spirited away by elementals as penance for old poaching ways. She died hoping and praying that she would see her family whole again one day.
