    At first glance and around authority figures, Ryder is intelligent, well-mannered, and has a good sense of humor, albeit sometimes a little insensitive. However, the minute he feels as if he doesn't like someone or is above them, he won't hesitate to have an attitude. He's incredibly sharp, often sarcastic and prideful, and carries himself that way. He hates being outsmarted or losing and is quick to be spiteful even when it's only slightly warranted (and even sometimes when it's not and someone just hits a nerve). He likes his order and organization, too.

    While he may be prone to clashing with those he doesn't know well, Ry does enjoy spending time with people he likes and is kind to them in his own begrudging way. Despite his reluctance to act sweet or "soft", he can sacrifice his pride if he needs to uplift someone he cares for. It's easy to catch him off guard with criticism, concern, or compliments that are personal rather than related to his accomplishments. Overall, his bark is much worse than his bite: his sardonic confidence isn't entirely a facade, but he's definitely not as high-and-mighty as he can act.

  • Biography

    Ryder is the youngest sibling of two, born in a semi-rural area of the Midwest. His mother and father died in a vehicle accident when he was around two years old, leaving his grandmother to raise him and his older brother, Ransom. However, his grandma wasn't really fit to care for children in their old age and grief, leaving Ransom as the primary caretaker for the family. Thankfully, their grandmother's pension was enough that he didn't have to work full-time, but Ran still dropped out of high school to keep things afloat.

    He didn't want Ryder to bear any of this burden, but also didn't have too much time to spend with him. Young Ryder often felt left out, frequently sat in front of a computer or sent outside with an old skateboard from the garage. Ransom gained custody of him when their grandmother passed, Ryder being nine at the time.

    He was a shy kid, so he didn't have too many friends. He learned programming as a way to pass the time, and, discovering a gift for the digital language, aspired to make it his career. He aspired to follow in his brother's footsteps then, but was only met with pushback-- while he did his best, Ransom wasn't a great example, struggling and making poor decisions under pressure.

    Feeling the need to seek companionship outside his immediate family, Ryder learned to be more outgoing in his early teens. Despite wanting to branch out, he always doubled down when people tried to pick apart his family structure. Ransom wanted him to focus on his education and friendships while he was in high school, so while Ryder had a part-time job, he didn't work much.

    Post-graduation, he's enrolled in an online university for game development and does odd jobs on the side. He still lives with his brother, and they're closer now that Ransom isn't the sole provider.
