    Background:

    Fanasy Origins: One might call Deril a street urchin... if not for the fact that he actually has quite a comfortable life. His thievery allows him plenty of luxury despite not having a permanent residence, and even when he doesn't have any possessions left that he's willing to part with, he has been known to just find a temporarily vacant home and live there for a while.

    Fantasy Anatomy: Born with an extra pair of arms, Deril is able to multi-task and perform feats of hand-eye dexterity that only his anatomy would allow. Coupled with his traditional rogue-ish abilities and young body, he can generally sneak into places adults might find difficult and obtain loot that most thieves would write off as impossible.

    Real World Nationality: Deril (or 'Daryl' as his typical real-world name is) is a British citizen born and raised (until running away from home at a very early age) in Cornwall. His parents, however, were Basque and Catalonian, and a hint of both regions' accents are detectable behind his strong west-country pronunciation.

    For real-world scenarios, the two-armed version of Deril still retains the gist of his talents and abilities, but far more in line with a child of his age. That includes a reduction of his superior hand-eye co-ordination and sleight-of-hand ability.

    The naga version of Deril retains his four arms, but in place of his legs, he has the lower body of a snake from the waist down. The segments on his underside are a gentle yellow colour, whilst the scales on the rest of his tail are dark green with a moasic-like aesthetic similar to that of a Montpellier snake, the colour fading into sections of slightly different hue. He also has a snake-like forked tongue and small fangs that can deliver a mild venom capable of causing swelling and pain around the contact site, followed by nausia, headaches and dizziness in the victim. His venom is non-lethal. His tail reaches a length of over nine feet, though he usually 'stands' at a height similar to his more human form, with the rest of the tail trailing behind him.

    Deril's naga form also has typical snake abilities. He can use his tongue to collect particles in the air to pick up a scent of his surroundings. Because of this, he has an exceptional sense of smell, particularly when it comes to telling the direction a smell comes from. Compared to canines, the drawback is that scents have to be fairly fresh for him to detect them, making him less useful for long-term tracking. Another of his abilities is the capability to sense vibrations in the ground at an enhanced level.

    In some scenarios, Deril may have dichromatic - green and blue only - vision and UV-filtering lenses in his eyes that work like sunglasses; in line with the capabilities of Montpellier snakes.
