  Religion: Hundar does not necessarily worship any god, though he acknowledges the existence of the ése, the Saxon equivalent of the Norse aesir. He will often speak to the gods in casual conversation, particularly Woden, whom he believes to be his ancestor.
  
  Likes: Battle, easy plunder, brawling, rough women, drinking copious amounts of mead or ale, talking about himself, hearing others talk about him.

  • They Grow 'em Big in Germania: Large and powerful, possessing the sort of brute strength that barbarians are known for.
  • Handy with the Steel: Combat training that includes horsemanship, javelin-throwing, fighting in the shield wall, and wielding two-handed weapons (his specialty).
  • No Law like Danelaw: Having traveled extensively with Danes, Hundar knows a bit about sailing, navigation and oar-pulling.
  • Ale and Whores: Hundar can carouse with the best of them; in fact, he might be better at partying than he is at crushing his enemies.
  • Anybody Want a Peanut?: While not as talented as a bard or skald, he's surprisingly gifted at crafting and singing ribald rhymes.

  
  
  
  
  

  • Not So Fancy Footwork: Due to his large size, Hundar is fairly clumsy, lacking the speed and grace of a more disciplined warrior.
  • Pride Cometh before the Pratfall: Deeply fond of himself and his reputation, he has a habit of underestimating his foes and generally getting himself tangled up in dangerous situations.
  • Brains Under Brawn: Not exactly a rocket scientist, and is easily outwitted. He is also uneducated and illiterate; subjects like philosophy, mathematics and alchemy are far beyond his grasp.
  • We're Off to Flee the Wizard: Some might call this a healthy respect for magic; Hundar does not understand it, and it terrifies him.
  • Scarred Stiff: The Saxon sports a multitude of old war wounds; the most pronounced is a bad knee, which often plagues him during bouts of physical strain.

  
  
  
  
  Agony: Lent to Hundar by Leofrik after his escape from captivity, the weapon is an ash-hafted assegai with a broad spearhead of Damascus steel.
  
  Armor: A chainmail hauberk worn over boiled leather and woolen garments; a rounded iron helm, somewhat dented and battle-scarred, but otherwise still in fine shape.
  
  Greatsword: A champion's weapon, meant to be wielded with both hands and kept in a fleece-lined scabbard on Hundar's back. A gift from his lord, the blade is pattern-welded steel, with one deep fuller running its length. The pommel and guard are plated with bronze, and the hilt is wrapped in finely tooled leather. Currently lost or inaccessible.
  
  Other Equipment: A long Seax knife, a bedroll, and a pack currently containing: 12 lbs. of pillaged gold (including a fabulous drinking horn), a jar of mead, a flint and tinder, a rope and grappling hook, several whetstones, a waterskin and a crowbar.
