  APPEARANCE Physical Appearance ________________ Joan is a woman of just above average height but a personality that makes her seem twice as tall. Beneath a frizzy mop of lazily restrained, dark-brown, curly hair sits an angular yet soft skinned face. She has always been a 'handsome' woman and the few little scars dotted about her face seemed to add to it, rather than retract. Naturally dark lined eyes frame well pronounced, large, dark-brown irises that can look anywhere between furious/incredulous and cheerful at a moments notice. A thin, straight nose, framed by two sturdy cheekbones leads down to a pair of small, thin lips bridged on the left side by a thin scar. About her neck she wears a series of leather strips decorated by loose reddish and orange beads, though beneath these, sometimes tucked under her shirt, is a plain, gold wedding band of unknown origins. Her body is lean and muscular, with thin but toned arms and legs at look like they could pack a decent punch. Her shoulders are a little broader than the average woman's and her chest on the smaller end of the spectrum. If anyone were ever to look under her hair they might see the heraldic sea-dragon tattoo that sits at the base of her neck between her shoulders.

  CLOTHING Clothing Description ________________ Joan might easily be mistaken for a pirate given her choice of clothing. Over the years she has found a certain love for big collars, leather waistcoats, belts, big boots and long coats. That being said, she has never once raided a ship but has spent considerable amounts of time at sea. She can often be seen in a loose, big-collared white shirt with the sleeves folded back to the elbows beneath a worn leathery waistcoat. A thick, red sash with tassles is tied around her waist whilst fitted brown pants tuck neatly into hefty, brown, leather, buckled boots. On clear display are the many beads and bangles she wears on her wrists, not unlike the leather strips and beads that dangle around her neck.

  
  

  PERSONALITY Quirks and Habbits ________________ Joan is a fairly cynical woman with a lot of life experience to back it up. While she's not quick to trust strangers, she's certainly only paranoid within reason. If looks could kill, she certainly had perfected the look that would do it. She has no patience for dangerous idiocy, disrespectful behaviour and ignorance but isn't so uptight as to not enjoy a good drink and conversation. The ghosts of her upbringing occasionally creep into her everyday life, occasionally fussing over the arrangement of cutlery and the precision and cleanliness of any abode or building she might find in her posession, temporary or permanent. Some often say she holds herself like a lady but doesn't entirely act like one. When in good humor, she will often smirk and her eyes seem to have a new light to them, but when she's angry or incredulous she has a habbit of letting her jaw hang very slightly while regarding the culprit at an angle, making a show of how she's 'unable to comprehend what they've just done'.
