  Background

  
  Joanne was the oldest of 6 girls and should have been the first married off. However, their mother fell ill and could no longer properly maintain their home. Joanne stepped up to run the Drescher estate so her mother could relax. Over time it became clear that even with treatment her mother would never fully gain her strength back.
  
  Finding a nobleman willing to abandon his own estate and wait to inherit another has been unsuccessful. Despite the frustrations of her own marriage arrangements, Joanne wholeheartedly helps arrange promising matches for her younger sisters, taking care to ensure each one will be happy in her new home and is fully prepared to ensure the Drescher family name remains untarnished. Joanne also tends to her mother, ensuring that though she is ill, she will continue to live a happy and healthy life.
  
  Since her mother was a diplomat Joanne is highly educated in world history and politics. She is a skilled hostess and has even had to fill in for her mother for meetings with visiting foreign diplomats at the castle. Many speculate that Joanne will inherit her mother's position as a castle diplomat. A prospect that Joanne both looks forward to and dreads the potential reality of.
  
  As with most Pyroans, Joanne dedicates a few hours a day to working with fire and during their summer ball and some of their festivals performs with other Pyroan noble dancers in traditional dances.

  The Founding of House Drescher

  
  Several generations after the war began, before the royal family took in all violet eyed children, there was an exceptional female warrior born to a happy common family. She lived a warm, love filled life until her parents were struck down by invading Cryoan soldiers.
  
  The young woman quickly joined the military and trained day in and day out. Her power was unmatched, her tenacity widely admired and off the field, she was not shy taking any willing man she wanted. But with age came the desire for recognition and legacy stronger than that of a soldier. For a soldier's legacy always burnt out when the new one took their place.
  
  Dissatisfied with her life as a common soldier, she turned her ambition towards higher ranks and rose until she had enough respect to garner the eyes of many nobleman. Love was a luxury she didn't need. Instead she looked for a second born son who was easy to control and had a humble estate she could turn into a fine legacy.
  
  Overtime, they were very fond of each other and set about starting their family. He remained home and watched over their children as she took an interest in the politics of the court, managing to raise their humble estate into a proud noble house.
  
  And thus, the House of Drescher was born.
