At further inspection
Although his name might imply to some that he is of clear French origin, in his appearance does not follow that closely. His face seems to have a lot of sharp angles - chin, cheekbones, straight nose, even eyebrows are arched and sharp. The most gentle in his face are the shapes of his eyes and mouth. Loren's eyes are strange colored - dark, dark blue, nearly like midnight sky. They seem deep, and a little sad, and the way his mouth corners are down turned at all times seems to imply it, too.
In built, he seems menacingly tall, standing at 6 feet and nearly 9 inches. This fact seems to aid the otherworldly feel about him. Fairly muscled, but nothing overboard in built. Skin that seems quite dark, against his fair hair, but is not too dark in reality. Loren is often tanned, however.
Shoulder length hair - sometimes grown out more and then kept in pony tail. Again, the coloring is unusual - silvery gray, and some say they change color depending on his mood. The hair is very soft and airy, alike the feathers on his wings, also in its structure.
Oh, yes, Loren's wings. His pride, and yet, a reason for his heartache. Large and strong, covered in silvery feathers that shimmer in light, they are beautiful and eye catching. As he flies, the feather seem to create a music of sorts, a tune, although it could be only an illusion. The wingspan is wide, and even when bent and tucked, they are quite noticeable - and heavy. With help of his powers, he can disguise them, but despite that, wings often get him in trouble. Still, Loren would not give them away for anything, proud of his heritage.
In clothes, he stands out slightly, but not too awfully much, modern style mixed with that of few centuries past. A hat (with feather on occasion), long coat, neat shirt and pants, good shoes. Usually in black or another neutral color.
Hard to understand and mysterious, Loren is very willful person. He will never do anything that he does not want to do. He won't even speak, when not in the mood. However, being kind at heart, makes him chose to help in most cases. Loren will never give up on his dreams, nor let his friends give up on them. A pacifist by true calling, he seems to understand self defense is very usable, though, and is not too shabby at fighting. However, Loren prefers using his powers to create an illusion that sets enemies in different direction. Still, rebellious streak can become more prominent and in anger, his powers can induce a rather horrifying visions and feelings. To the point person's brains believe he is drowning or choking and eventually stops functioning. Still, there is not a single kill in Loren's records.
Very reliable person. His morale and truthfulness falls in just one point - and that is lying. Although certainly not a hardcore liar, Loren won't avoid a small lie when needed. However, he will not deceive about his feelings, such as saying "I love you", if he does not mean it. He dislikes argues, but despite all these peaceful traits, he is by no means naive. Quite the opposite, actually.
He is very artistic. Loves music, poetry, stories, arts - anything that can be created. Talented musician, fluent in 10 languages, he translates poems and stories, spreading them further. As well as writes them him self. Music notes is another thing he has mastered gracefully. Great at singing, of course. It is one side of his intelligence and wisdom, but they reach in many other spheres of life as well, such as psychology.
Loren is perceived as very charming, if a little strange, women often putting an eye on him, but never getting the man. His gentlemanly nature is often perceived as flirting, but it's just the way he treats everyone, when in correct mood. He is certainly not shy (Loren actually is very friendly and seemingly open person, talking easily with most), but at times, can withdraw from everyone, creating a mental shell around him, that no one can crack. This slightly tormented feel about him seems to attract women even more.
No one knows his past for sure, but stories go that somewhere high above, there is city in which many winged 'angels' live. Sometime they take a partner from 'the lands'. If it is true, then Loren could be a child of such union, father of a monster rank, and mother a changed one, or maybe a mere human. What brings him down to Earth is unknown, maybe just his restless need to spread art and hope. He wanders from one place to another, never staying somewhere for too long. Everywhere, he earns some friends (and possibly some enemies), but never settles down. Loren brings kind and good out from people with his heartfelt stories and music, as well as lighting a hope in lost hearts, guiding them to correct path.
Not much more can be said than told before. Where he lives in each place he stops by, is a mystery, rarely anyone sees his 'nests'. He seems to always have some music instrument with him, the most favorite being pan pipe/flute and harmonica.
