Vibrant, confident, impatient, and demanding, Rong Lin adores being the eye of attention. He is fierce with a charismatic, silver tongue, but he's more snarky, blunt, and less gentlemanly than he lets on. With a simple look, Rong Lin can read people effortless whether it's the expression on their face, body, or word. To others, he appears well-rounded, responsible, savvy, and prominent within the community. With his charming and playful personality, not many could think of a single complaint towards him. If anything, he may be a little odd, but nothing to ring the warning bells.
It may be due to his innate ability, or maybe no one thinks it's of importance, but Rong Lin often knows if not seeks out to learn the secrets and little tidbits of his peers. He's nothing the warrants the brand of a stalk, but he just happens to be very observant even if he doesn't care for it, but he's noticed that it collecting these intricacies helps him gain favorability amongst folks he can call friends or useful acquaintances.
Still, it doesn't take much for someone to dislike him. His high-maintenance self can irrate others as he has a habit of putting up a smile and tuning out people he has a disinterest in. He can often see people in categories of being useful, useless, entertaining, and boring. This system is always why and how he picks people. He doesn't step in altercations to stop them but rather to take the opportunity to belittle, mock, or challenge other with playful insult. He isn't one to be righteously motivated to help someone in need, instead he just loves to hear himself talk and he loves to hear others talk about him. He's a shameless instigator looking for fights and people to antagonize.
Shrewd and testy, Rong Lin carries a materialistic air about himself. He lives for the finer luxuries in life but he's cunning in how he achieves his goals. Switching between masks, Rong Lin operates in playing as the actor, the bard, and the charlatan with the people around him. He's really true to others on how he allows them to perceive who he is. He can be sweet and humble, or rude and gossipy. An entertainer with a complex and faceted personality, Rong Lin is, above all else, interested in sating his desires.
He doesn't care to mind his own business. In fact, he's always ready to jump in where he doesn't belong much to the delight or the annoyance of others. He could be the saving grace or the thorn to someone's side, but he's neither quite benevolent or malicious. If he gets involved in something, it's because he believes he can get something out of it. That is truly where his heart lies. That said, he certainly has a strange mean side about him, but he isn't cruel and demented. At least, he doesn't try to be. He only enjoys juvenile taunts and teases, he just finds it fun to mess with people, so he doesn't care for the peace and quiet - that would be so dull and boring.
When bored, Rong Lin is aloof and stand-offish until his attention is piqued. Like a skewed switch, Rong Lin grows more energized when he gets invested in someone or something. While he tried to maintain the respectable look he's given himself, Rong Lin isn't shy to point out that he's bored or uninterested with either a smile or an annoyed glare in his eyes. For Rong Lin, he isn't born to please, it's everyone else that's meant to entertain him. Perhaps his behaviour is brash and self-indulgent, but he's a born socialite with the need to maintain those he holds close, and discards those he doesn't.
He's selfish and he's long accepted that. He's doesn't coddle others too well - never feeling that sort of warmth. He desires for contact and relationships, but Rong Lin's longing can better be described as the fixation to have someone - to have the power, control, and mercy over someone - rather then to view them as another half, an equal. He really doesn't see people like that, or rather, he can't tell the difference between loving someone and wanting possession over them.

金价在吾如十轻⠀His name is 秀榮林, or Xiù Róng Lín. His name is structured in Chinese, so his family name is written first. His first or actual name is Róng Lín (with or without accents), though his nickname is Nell. I call him Nell as it's easier for some people, though in truth, "Nell" is Rong Lin's nickname or the name he gives for when he doesn't to give people his actual name. Or just the name he uses in a more Western setting. Name aside and mind you, just because Nell crossdresses on occasion doesn't mean he's the demure, oblivious type. He is in fact a hypersexual sadist.
