  Behind the Scenes Paleface was once a knight serving under King Constantine. Months after his son, Callistin, was crowned King, Paleface (known as Sir Jaryd at the time) was one of the knights pushed into retirement; the new king knighted more carnivores loyal to the new decree to replace the 'minorities' and their supporters. Jaryd accepted his forced retirement gracefully as he bore no love for the new King, and got as far away from Malgrave as he could. Over the years, he began to make a new name for himself and has since been hired by an elderly knight he once served beside.
