The man seemed a tad bit too tall and long of limb, in a way that might have been a bit awkward; if not for the grace and flow of his stride and movement. He was dark skinned, with features that were beautiful in a mildly uncanny way; reminiscent of a bird of prey. Long 'knife' ears stuck out from wind-tousled wavy black hair, that did not quite reach his shoulders. Dark feathers touched with markings of bright gold formed a sort of mohawk along the crown of his head. His eyes were an intense yellow-gold, too bright in color to belong to that of a mundane being. His long and lean frame was clothed in simple wool, linen or leather. Black breeches with a simple belt, and a worn brown leather coat, roughly knee length. Sometimes his chest was left bare, other times a plain tunic was worn beneath. No matter his attire, he was never without a golden medallion with strange gem carved to resemble the scales of a dragon or some other scaled beast. It was, in fact, rather similar to his reptilian lower legs, and the long serpentine tail that trailed behind him.

Auster's particular species is far larger than most traditional wyvern's and is more on par with some dragons. He stands at around 12ft at the shoulder, up to around 15 if he raised up higher than his normal relaxed standing posture. His head is normally carried somewhat low, almost parallel to his shoulders. Standing up straight as he can, with his head raised, would put the top of his head around 22ft off the ground. From nose to haunch he is a bit over 25ft. A lot of his length is in his tail. From the top of his nose to the tip of a very long tail, he is around 80ft. His primary wings have a 65ft span, and his secondary wings, which are used more for steering and aid in gliding, have a 30ft span.

Name: Auster is the name he took on when his mage training began, and the only one he uses now. His Elvish name, given to him by his first friend and companion was Ambalendil.
Age: While his facial features suggest mid twenties or perhaps a bit more, he counts his age in centuries.
Species: One of the more bird-like varieties of Greater Wyvern. He does not know the exact name of his species, nor has he encountered another like him since he was a hatchling.
Height: 6'7
Build: Long-limbed and lean. Ectomorph. While there is muscle tone present, there is no bulk to him.
Weight: Around 265 lbs. While he is slim and not large of frame, his muscle and bone is denser than that of a human of the same height and build, making him a bit heavier than his appearance suggests.
Hair: Black, wavy and a bit past jaw length
Eyes: Very deep yellow-gold and almost lantern-like.
Skin: Rich coppery-brown. Golden markings on his shoulders.
Scent: Ozone, black tea, bergamot
Other distinguishing features: Feather 'mohawk' long elf ears, teeth have slight points, claws on his fingertips. Long slender scaled tail. Lower legs and feet are reptilian.

Auster often comes across as reserved and detached at least at first. It is rare that he raises his voice, or shows anger, but also rare for him to be seen laughing. His sense of humor, when it shows, is on the dry side. He is deeply lonely, but also a bit of a loner, and finds it difficult to connect with others. While he tries to be well mannered, he often comes across as being a bit awkward and has a tendency to say exactly what he is thinking, and ask rather prying questions. When curious about someone, he will sometimes end up staring at them far too much. He tends to be happier when he has something to do with his hands, or to occupy his mind. If he isn't tinkering with jewelry or an enchantment, he will be reading or eating. He loves to make jewelry, but rarely wears anything other than his medallion. His favorite foods are poultry, eggs and fish, although he will often be seen munching on fruit, bread or pastries as well. He is also very fond of black tea, and usually has a mug within reach at all times. He prefers it brewed strong, and usually only with a bit of honey added.
