  • Character Summary

    Tarhoof is a Dreamweaver and Druid of the Branch: a mender skilled at weaving the restorative properties of the natural world. Her fur is black from head to hoof, yet her horns are an icy white and severely cracked from the tip down. She is as well kept as she can manage despite a frequent coating of dirt, rain or grasses on her gear.

  • Personality & Demeanor

    Tarhoof is an excitable tauren with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. As a follower of the Ancients of Lore she seeks stories, history and the general study of ecology.

    She is generally cheery and optimistic. While she may favour diplomacy first, Tarhoof won't hesitate if a situation calls for quick action.

    She is passionate about protecting the wilds of Azeroth. Such a position has put strain on her views toward most industrialized Goblin organizations.

    She never turns down an opportunity to share a story or fable to a willing audience.

  • Garments & Armor

    No matter the nature of her gear, Tarhoof resembles a walking tree thanks to the plantlife teaming with vines and flowers that sprout out from the nooks in her armor.

    So much are these patches of plants that small creatures, such as mice and squirrels, can been seen scurrying between the gaps and ridges of her equipment.

    The horns that poke out from her leather hood are stark-white and damaged with a split near their points.

    After the closing of the Veil over Icecrown in Northrend, Tarhoof returned to the Broken Isles. She accepted the formal title of Dreamweaver and finally committed to remaining in the Dreamgrove. Here she is a scribe under the leadership of the Ancient of Lore, Leafbeard the Storied. She often surveys Shal'anir with her fellow druids to monitor Nightmare flare-ups, ensuring that the grove is given the time it requires to someday recover.

    Tarhoof was among the druids dispatched by the Dreamweavers to investigate the realms of the afterlife on their behalf. Tarhoof was assigned to report on the nature of creatures that existed beyond death. When her assignment ended, Tarhoof returned to Azeroth where she began to aid a group of adventurers that called themselves the Horde Brothers.

    Tarhoof's travels continued to be informed by the needs of the Dreamweavers and the endeavours of the Violet Vanguard (formerly the Horde Brothers).

    The Fourth War draft took Tarhoof to Stormsong Valley where she was conscripted as a mender to the Honorbound in Warfang Hold. Steping away from druidic organizations weighed heavy on her heart, but not as heavy as risking the safety of her family would have been should her loyalty to the United Tribes come into question.

    Her tour of duty ended not long before N'zoth began to creep its way back into Azeroth and the Emerald Dream with Tarhoof having returned to Val'Sharah to resume the worldwide efforts of mending Azeroth.

    Tarhoof studied in Val'Sharah with the Dreamweavers as a disciple of Leafbeard the Storied and the Ancients of Lore. She devoted much of her efforts against the Emerald Nightmare and the Legion's corruption where it ran rampant in any wild places across the Broken Isles.

    Tarhoof returned from Northrend to a new Kalimdor and a world that had been wholly shaken.

    In her adventures since, Tarhoof has been ally to both the Tears of Draenor and the World Keepers; a neutral coalition of the Earthen Ring and the Cenarion Circle. Under the guidance of the shaman Char Blackstorm and the druid Sath Skyspear, she found renewed purpose.

    Tarhoof inherited the mantle of Prime Druid from her predecessors and led the World Keepers' efforts for three years. But with the Burning Legion's return seeming to rally all the peoples of Azeroth together, the Keepers coalition was found redundant and thus dismantled.

    At too young an age Tarhoof found herself in the Scourge war conscripted as a Healer druid for the Northrend Horde forces. It was here that her interest in the cultures of Azeroth's races flourished when she was working and learning from the Kalu'ak and the Taunka allies.

    Tarhoof remained a part of the skeleton crews that remained stationed in the aftermath following the Lich King's defeat. Once discharged from duty, she remained in Northrend for four more years where she lived between Taunka and Tuskarr villages. Her years in the north resulted in the permanent frost damage to her horns.

    As an infant, Tarhoof was whisked away from Darkcloud Pinnacle by her uncle Tahote Tarhoof. Her parents were the sort of anti-Horde radicals now synonymous with the Grimtotem tribe.

    Tarhoof grew up among the tauren clans of Freewind Post and the skilled the wind masters and wyverns of Thousand Needles.

    Her future seemed to be destined following a Windrider's path until, in her fourteenth year, she was recruited and began her training as a druid for the Horde.

  • Heritage

    The Tarhoof tauren dealt in acquiring tar & pitch to trade among the other Shu'halo tribes when their kind roamed unbound to any one village. This family earned their name not only by their typically black fur, but also by their speciality 'Tarseekers': shaman of extreme earthly attunement who could both locate and draw tar up from beneath the earth.

    The tar was first used for the waterproofing of their rivercraft, baskets and other natural-material containers. In much more recently history, during the Third War, the Tarhooves lent their know-how to acquire the pitch needed in the creation of incendiary weaponry for the Horde.

    As with many of the Shu'halo family names, the Tarhooves have since be absorbed into the greater Horde and their tribesmen taking on a broader range of roles within it. However there are still some who uphold their traditions as Tarseekers and traders.

    While nomadic like many of the ancient tribes, the Tarhooves roamed mostly in the southern-most territories of Kalimdor.
