• Personality

  Ven is unpredictable, but not a loose cannon. He has a strong tendency to flirt, bitch and chatter, and he can say some pretty blunt or weird things sometimes. Eccentric and energetic.
  
  Vanix: Flirtatious and well meaning, irrepressible and convoluted. There's just that hint of eccentricity, not so much that it blares a red flag ICly but juuuust enough to put someone on edge, unsure if the situation will fly off the handle or remain within safe bounds. So, unpredictable without being the stereotypical loose cannon. A controlled essence within a welcome, lowkey modish with almost a southern hospitality vibe. Sweet as creme brulee with scalpels cooked into it.

• Biological info

  Lir'ganai host parasites that live within their throats. The parasites have existed just as long as the Lir'ganai have, and coexist with the Lir'ganai, through means of a symbiotic relationship. At the expense of an increased appetite, and malabsorption, the parasites provide a defensive genetic mutation to the tongue. To cope with the need for a higher quantity of both nutrients and food, a simple-to-digest and easily sourced diet of offal has been adopted by the Lir'ganai. They will also eat fruit and vegetables, which provide fibre and vitamins that cannot be gained from meat.
  
  The tongue is mutated, bearing nine individual barbed tentacles. The tentacles are capable of leeching amino acids, amongst other things, from living targets. Each tentacle can individually calcify to provide a sharp-edged biological weapon, and are most commonly used to attack the jugular of prey or attackers.
  Yes, Ven can literally lick people to death!
  
  The barbs also secrete non-lethal venom that has the ability to paralyse, by binding to sodium channels in the muscles to stop them from functioning properly.

• Equipment

  Standard issue scanner: Provides info on chemical makeup of different aliens and the surroundings, issued to all medics.
  
  Goggles: Aviator-style goggles with pink tinted lenses. Used to protect eyes from debris while in flight.
  
  Armour: Semi-mechanical suit with a helmet and visor, which protect from foreign atmospheres and pathogens. The visor has AR capabilities, meaning that Ven can pinpoint the exact location of a target, and see how far away they are in feet. He can also see targets that are concealed behind walls or other solid surfaces. AR is disabled when heart rate is above normal thresholds, to allow better distribution of neural energy to cybernetics. (An average BPM of 110 is normal for Lir'ganai. AR shuts off above 125.) AR can also be disabled via EMP grenades.
  
  Chain-gun: Custom made rifle with a built-in chainsaw. The body of the gun has black and yellow warning stripes. It can carry three bullets at once, and must be reloaded when fired. The chainsaw is powered by fuel and runs dry after around 3 minutes (3 posts). It is a heavy weapon and must be wielded with two paws. The gun is prone to jamming - misfire rules from D'N'D 5e apply. (Ven must roll a d20 before using the gun, and a result of 3 or below causes the gun to jam. He must spend his subsequent turn attempting to repair it, scoring over a 11 - failure will break the gun and it will need professional repairs.)
  
  Shields: Three rectangular shields that extend from Ven's armour by means of hydraulic arms, these shields operate in much the same way as his back spines - when his muscles tense as a result of fear or surprise, they will automatically extend. The shields are black, with pink spines that are around 20cm long and surgically sharp. The shields prevent melee attacks, but will be disabled if cut at the arms or shot from behind (Ven can utilise this function to retract them himself). The shields can withstand normal gunfire, but struggle against missiles.
  
  

• Combat Info

  Defense: Ven's spine is equipped with long, serrated blades that are characteristic of his species, but in his case cybernetic. In the event of an attack, surprise, or during combat, the blades shoot out at a high speed to try and impale predators. They can also be utilised to ward off attackers. This feature is unpredictable, and can malfunction occasionally, sometimes injuring allies as well as enemies.
  
  Attack: Ven can lift small creatures or people into the sky and drop them from great heights to cause injury. He will also pick up barrels or containers of dangerous substances like acid or oil to immobilise or damage adversaries. (Ray gave him the idea!)
