  • Background

    Kayse was born to a single mother who had been brought to the americas as a young child. Kayse never knew his father, but he knew his mother was fully Japanese. His heritage was always a mystery for him. However there was one thing his father left behind. A unique ability granted to Kayse from his first waking eyes. Kayse was able, from birth, to talk and interact physically with all ghosts who roamed the world. Ghosts form when they die unexpectedly or tragically. There are many kinds, some stuck in loops of life, others who can interact with the physical world, and ones who are lost between worlds. Kayse kept this secret for the longest of time, but his mother always knew something was slightly off with him. He would constantly talk to himself, or so it seemed, and would stare off into the distance, lost in thought.

    Kayse only told his mother when he turned 13. She was supportive and did all she could for him, but when he turned 17 she passed on after becoming gravely ill. Kayse had no relatives in America and was left on his own. He found a home for himself while he finished high school. Once 18 he went straight to college where he pursued a degree in art with a minor in music. He used his inheritance from his mother to fund this, but times got tougher on him. He became more depressed, and felt the ghosts and horror around him worsening. By the time he graduated he was beyond normal. he felt lost and dead inside. After failing to hold down a traditional job Kayse found himself in the grittier part of town in a rundown studio apartment. Here he would focus on drawing his art, which was often dark but absolutely amazing. He sells online, develops book covers, album art, and mostly posts his art onto mugs, t-shirts, hoodies, etc and sells them off the internet. This allows him to avoid people and live on his own, but not very well.

    Currently Kayse runs his own life, though very dark and damp. He is quite nocturnal. He's trying to figure things out, but often cant get very far due to his mental state. Sometime's the art world doesn't fund enough and he works at a local strip joint for extra cash, not his preferred mode, but he needs to pay rent.

    There is also one ghost, who silently follows him. An absolutely terrifying black mass in the shape of a demonic man, with red eyes and an exploding head. He makes no sound whatsoever, and stands out on the street watching.

    A little note about what makes a ghost a ghost and not a resident of Heaven or Hell.

    Heaven= Pure people who are considered lawful by god and angels. Often those of religion and or good nature. Heaven excludes all fantasy creatures.
    Ghost= Death by unnatural causes. Things such as murder, suicide by human involvement, or freak accidents. This can include fantasy creatures or humans.
    Hell= Sinful people who are neither a ghost or allowed into Heaven. Not all bad, but run by demons and king Lucifer. It include all fantasy creatures and humans.

    Extra info:
    Suicide: If caused solely by illness then it is considered a natural death. This allows them to go to heaven or hell. If the attempt is caused by human intervention it is considered a unnatural death and they become a ghost.
    Fantasy Creatures: In this world all fantasy creatures are "evil". For example werewolves, witches, vampires, etc. Nothing like fairies or unicorns exist. That is unless its something like a flesh eating fairy.

    Ex:
    Natural Death: illness, age, car accident, choking, complications during surgery
    Unnatural Death: Murder, suicide, anything involving a ill intent second party.
