  • Description

    As a female Tsk-tak'clk, she is composed of five body segments.

    The first is a head bearing four broad, thickly dome-lensed eyes, a stout beak-like jaw, and four thick, antennae, each about 15cm long. Head and neck together are about 45cm

    The second is a torso-like front thorax about 1m long with two long, strong limbs tipped in long fingered/toed hands/feet,

    The third is similar to the second, though shorter, at only about 50cm in length. It bears the second of her four pairs of limbs, and is usually at an angle, providing transition between her more upright section and her fourth body segment.

    That segment is a roughly 2m hind thorax/abdomen supported by two pairs of legs. The front pair is similar to the upper pairs, but much thicker and stronger, with short-clawed feet, and the hind pair being a pair of massive, powerful limbs meant to support her entire mass while climbing down thread, or to help her leap great distances.

    The last body segment is a ~2m "abdomen" which essentially consists of an egg-sac and large, heavily developed spinnerets, visible as an opening surrounded by short spiky claw-like protrusions, taking up most of the thick "spine" of that body section.

    Her carapace is a shiny blue, and quite thick and strong for its weight, which is still considerable in spite of its low density.

    On her lower right arm is a "lash", an extendable set of bones and tendons that whips out forward to put its sharp point or edges into or across an individual in need of killing or punishment. As a quarantiner, her lash carries very powerful antibiotics and, with the attachment of an appropriate forge, nanites, both of which she can choose to inject or not. Her lower left arm has longer claws than the other three, which are connected to glands which produce a paralytic and anaesthetizing venom. This is used to contain contagion carriers or prepare trespassers for vivisection.... once the numbing wears off, of course. The paralysis lasts longer.

    At her "collar", she has a platinum band moulded into the joint in her carapace, the inert metal signifying her role as a medical professional to those not part of the hive mind.
