• Ebberlock Redguard

  Halmay is a descendant of a long lost ship. A great fleet once sailed to escape the destruction of their home continent. Most of these ships made it to a place faraway. Some ventured off course throughout the long voyage. Halmay's ancestors veered off course during a storm. They were the only Redguards to land on this new place. The ship had been fairly large, a mix of tribal warriors and their families. There were elders, matrons and even an official.
  
  From their progeny sprung forth generations of artisans, thinkers and soldiers. They crafted a settlement near defensible positions along a ridge. These Redguards have a reputation for being talented scouts and hearty people. Some are often contracted to do work for various nobles in nearby settlements.
  
  The size of Ebberlock village has grown. They are considered a tough matchup, since they all seem to live such a militant life. Every Redguard is a defender of their land. It helps that they also know the terrain well. Several Redguards have even grown to become important generals after becoming trusted and tasked with one king's strategic assignments.
  
  Ebberlock is more than a fortification. It is home to ornate, colorful art and exotic design. Shamans and non-magic healers use revolutionary medicine to keep the village healthy.

• Halmay

  Life in Ebberlock groomed Halmay into a talented scout, naturalist and fighter. Conflict brought him no pleasure. Especially not with some of the senseless conflicts he'd seen some of the local kingdoms involved in. Halmay knows that fighting with other armies can bring more than coin. It brings alliances. The Ebberlock Redguards called this 'red diplomacy'. It was so named because Redguard blood might have to be spilled to forge tough alliances.
  
  Halmay put himself in position to offer the help needed. If anyone must help the outsiders, he wants to be the one. He grew up with a young wood elf friend. This left Halmay less xenophobic than many Redguards. He wanted to meet as many different kinds of people as he could.
  
  The forest around him is an interesting place, much different than his native lands. He enjoys climbing nearby hills on mountain or horseback. He's made cataloging different kinds of plant and animals life a hobby. The story of his people is also important to him. Halmay often tells stories of the old continent and his people's culture. He can't help but feel connected to the past.
