Appearance: Cathanica is a young woman with a clay red skin and long black hair. Her eyes are slit, typical of that of an Ifrit, and they often have a gold shine to them. Protruding from her head are two antler-like horns that seem to be a sulfuric black in color, with fiery orange tips. These horns are stony in texture, and her entire body is significantly warmer than that of other beings, befitting her heritage. She also possesses a stony prehensile tail.

Cathanica will often wear loose and casual, but flame resistant clothing. When in her workshop, she’ll wear plain shorts, sandals, and a bandaged top only to allow her the best freedom of movement. When traveling, though, she’ll accompany herself with armored greaves on her arms and legs, even so, she still doesn’t wear much, preferring instead to simply be able to strike quickly. If she’s feeling illustrious, she’ll wear an open robe.

For equipment, Cathanica only carries two things on her person at any time, her smith’s hammer and her ornate katana, both inherently magical in nature and forged by her. Any other item would be of significantly less value and thus not held on to often.
Personality: Dubbing herself the swordsmith in all the world, Cathanica has a high degree of confidence in herself. She takes immense pride in her ability to create swords, and as such does not tolerate those who use her blades flippantly, even taking back swords if they’re used in such a manner. She’ll do this even if people have already paid for them.

Despite this air of ego, Cathanica is easily flustered and embarrassed when people do find a shortcoming. With it, she can act a small bit childish and petulant. She will still refuse to act petty in the process, as she understands that stooping to someone’s level accomplishes nothing.
Powers and Abilities: Her bravado isn’t for nothing, of course. Cathanica is one of the most skilled swordsmiths in all the land. Her blades are oftentimes pristine and deadly. In the right hands, her blades can cut through just about anything with ease. Unfortunately, at least according to her, there are many who have not mastered her swords. As she views it, anyone who has not ‘linked their soul’ to the sword devalues its worth. Regardless of what the case is, Cathanica is a devastating sword master in the process, able to use her personal blades to do just as they were advertised; cut through anything with ease as though it were butter.

Naturally, as a swordsmith, Cathanica is proficient with fire. This proficiency stems from the fact her face is naturally gifted with fire magic, but Cathanica takes this even farther. With her magic, she doesn’t need a workshop to forge her swords, just the materials. In combat, her flames can be spewed from her lips or from her hands, though she doesn’t actually ‘breath’ fire as ignites it with magic. Her flames can be so devastatingly hot that nothing, not even her flame resistant clothes, can withstand it.
Backstory: Cathanica was born in the Ifrit home society of Mount Spiritus Flammae. While she had a boring childhood, she had always had a passion for metalworks, and enjoyed when the occasional adventurer would visit to view the fantastic swords. It was during her early life that she insisted on becoming a master swordsmith.

The first twenty years of her life were spent mastering this art, day in and day out. She applied methods learned by the swordsmen, as well as those she learned herself until a perfect sword was made. Her first sword was the one she kept herself. With her goal done, she set out in the world to sell her works and make her name renown throughout the land.
