Kirsha

You did not notice her at first, for the maiden seems to posses an almost uncanny ability to not fall into sight. Yet at the very same time everything about her seems to stand out. Her humble, worn-down clothes, long since out of fashion in these more urbanized parts. Her pigmentation and features just not quite at place either, at least among the common-folk. Her eyes remind you a bit of a bird of prey or a wolf, as she stands there surveying the people around her in a clinical manner. Though you do not sense any air of malice about her. No, merely caution.

It takes her a moment to notice your eyes resting upon her. And when hers meet yours, you cannot help but feel somewhat caught. You smile sheepishly, yet her brows only furrow into a slight scowl before she hastily turns to leave. Only to once more melt into the mass of people making their business about the bustling marketplace.

Personality: She is quite stubborn and guarded, though rightfully so. The world had never treated her with particular kindness and since the day she lost her mother she still sometimes hears her screams echoing in her dreams. Bitter is another term which might come to mind when describing her disposition. At her core however, Kirsha is a kind and loyal person who feels the pain of others quite deeply and is fiercely conscientious. She will act against her better nature in the name of protecting herself and those she loves, but not without a heavy heart.

Looks: The young woman is clearly of mixed blood, with strikingly amber eyes which stand out against her warm, freckled chestnutty completion. Her long, thick hair is largely straight and worn loose, though usually tucked behind her ears to keep it out of her way. She wears no visible jewelry and is dressed in a rather humble manner. Upon her shoulder rests a faintly olive, woolen shawl which had once belonged to her mother. Beneath it peeks out a well-worn linen shirt, with sleves lightly embroidered in white thread. At her hips drapes a simple brown skirt and peeking forward from beneath the frayed hem, which has clearly been mended many a time over, are a pair of simple leather turn-shoes.

Origin: She was born out of wedlock to a herb-wife and has for most of her life lived on a small farmstead with her mother and later, a younger sister. It wasn't an easy life by any means, but they got by and thinking back these simpler times would come to be Kirsha's most cherished memories. She was freshly 18 and her sister only 8 when the witchunters had come and made an example of their mother. Just barely had the girls managed to hide and then slip away in the dead of night. They've been vagabonds ever since. Taking oddjobs when they could and foraging when they could not, until the day tragedy would strike once more. As they were forced on the roads yet another time, Kirsha woke up one cold morning to find her sister had gone missing. All she found remaining of her by the end of the day were tracks at a nearby riverbank, mixed with many larger ones, no doubt belonging to a hunting party they'd just barely evaded a few town back.

Desires: Her one goal as of now is to retrieve her younger sister and above all else she desires security and a place they can once more call home. And while kind at heart, the lengths to which she's willing to go to reach either goal should not be underestimated.

Fears: She fears to die, but especially as her mother had and even more so she fears her sister suffering the same fate. The thought that she might be left alone in this cold harsh world, brings upon her unimaginable dread.

Powers: Her mother, ironically had little magical ability, however Kirsha has in one way or another at least inherited an affinity of sorts for fire. This isn't to say she can't be hurt by it, though she does poses the ability to summon small sparks near the palm of her hand and she is capable of bending it somewhat to her will. If not outright capable of strangling anything larger than a candlefire, she is at least temporarily capable of halting it or redirecting its course.
She is also rendered noticeably less susceptible to various forms of magical trickery than an average person, though weather this is in fact a magical ability or just a product of a strong sense of will is up for debate.
