  • Who Are They?

    WXYZ of New York (which cam either be read as W-X-Y-Z or The Variables of NY) is jazz group originally formed with friends trombonist Zora Crell, bass guitar/bass Reyna Quinn Malora, and soprano saxophone Felix Deigo Stone. Percussionist Selena Lalia Ganther joined soon after she met Felix, as the two work as teachers in the same school district.

    Although WXYZ of NY has not released a studio album as of yet, they have released a few collections, which are filled with covers of songs and other special tidbits.

    Collection one, Back to the Drawing Board, includes covers, as well as three improv tracks. This collection is simply recordings taken from live gigs the band had done.

    Late one year, the same year as collection three was released, WXYZ of NY released their first original as a single entitled "In the Library". This single, written with help of both the band and miscellaneous local score writers, takes on a calmer energy than their previous covers. This single, along with all three collections, are available on the band's Spotify and YouTube page.
