Firstborn son to Henry and Evelyn, Jamie was slated to take the mantle of family head until he was discredited. Under extreme pressure from Henry the fledgling doctor made a fatal error in a critical case resulting in the death of the patient and a malpractice suit that was proven valid, he had read the results of the tests wrong and killed his patient. Barred from taking his father's mantle Jamie would instead be treated as the members of the peripheral family are and given a business to manage, Medici Apothecary is a global brand that deals in the finest medicines - and it is not enough for him. Jamie on the side of his legitimate business ventures also deals in illicit substances, he ensures none of the rest of his family can be implicated by his dealings and uses that position to get them leverage in business dealings.

Jamie does care for his rather naive and idealistic brother, however he also knows that his brother will not survive alone in the den of snakes they inhabit and thus applies the principles of tough love in hopes he won't be so easy for people to take advantage of. The triplets reluctantly get affection from Jamie as he was far too old and busy when they were born to be around them much and thus he feels awkward trying to relate to them.
