Jacob Makas was the only son of a lower level Galactic Social Influencer and a Corp university professor.
He had been a student of Winston Mallard and actually assisted him with the early concepts of S.K.I.P. (Stellar Kinetic Intergalactic Propulsion), the system that will power the Prevailing Hope's journey and create the intergalactic bridge that will open the way for more exploratory ships and settlers in Andromeda.
He had planned to continue working with his professor when the Shepherd's Spur Purge took place. Millions of people lost their lives when the network of galactic transport terminals within the small system where destroyed by a coordinated series of terrorist attacks. The excuses by the fringe religious sect where as old as humanity itself.
And like men and women had done in centuries past, Jacob Makas believed it was his duty to stand up for the lived of those who died and those whose lives were still threatened by the Right Hand of Orion.
