Alatheliri's dreams of returning to Silvermoon were shattered when news of the Scourge's attack on Quel'Thalas reached her from the forests of Quel’Thalas. She watched in horror as her beloved homeland was ravaged by Arthas and his undead army, the Sunwell defiled and destroyed. She knew that she had to act quickly if she was to have any hope of saving herself and her demonic allies from the scourge. She used her powerful magic to create a portal to the Twisting Nether, but not before witnessing the destruction of her family's estate and the deaths of many of her people.

She found herself drawn to the seedy underworld of Silvwrmoon, once she had returned to her homeland. There, in the city's underbelly, she discovered a community of Warlocks who shared her fascination with the darker side of magic.

She spent many years studying and training in secret with these Warlocks, honing her skills and learning new forms of dark magic. Over time, she became a respected figure in the community, admired for her power and knowledge. But Alatheliri's thirst for power was never sated, and she soon began to use her knowledge to train others in the ways of the Warlock. She became a mentor and teacher to a new generation of aspiring Warlocks, passing on her knowledge and experience to those who sought to harness the power of the dark arts.

Under her guidance, many of her students went on to become powerful Warlocks in their own right, using their knowledge to defend their people and strike fear into their enemies.
