• Description

  James is a man with plenty of jobs, tired experiences that are already well worn into his young face. He takes care of himself, and so it would be a rare occasion indeed to see his hair disheveled or a shirt not ironed. He would smell like a cold ocean, or a misty mountain pass lost in itself. James prefers jazz music whenever he has his headphones on(which is often) but will settle for anything other than Country. Although James is a police officer, he hates driving to work in a separate car, and instead takes the bus so he can enjoy some music before work starts.
  
  He sees himself too worn to look for another woman, as much as his chief insists otherwise. But since his trust is very weakly given, his hope is even worse.

• Biography

  Born as the eldest of two, James was immediately expected to be the one to test the road. It had been like that for both of his parents and so it was now going to be for him. James' strict parents threw everything they had at him, not expecting or celebrating accomplishments since he was already deemed an experiment. His choices would be scrutinized, doubted, to the level that James grew up with significant self doubt, self consciousness and yet extreme ambition. He wanted to be many things, a ceramic artist, a psychologist(which even he will admit now was a fleeting idea), and especially an astronaut. All these things had been thrown aside or simply considered suitable for review by his parents.
  
  In the meantime, his youngest brother Patrick thrived in the freedom of knowing two things: he had to only do what his brother did right, and handle any mistake James did better. Patrick was demanding, expected the best after growing up protected by his elder brother's mistakes, and partied with alcohol and woman so frequently it was a common prayer that he wouldn't get any of them pregnant.
  
  James had been a happier fellow at some point, or he had thought so. Perhaps it began when he met his future, lovely wife. They had met years ago, during a time that ran much slower then. He had been a freshman in college who worked at the school coffee shop, and she had been the regular introvert with the laptop -- one with blue eyes. It only took one free coffee and they had twisted the fate' strings tightly. But she had been an introvert before and after marriage, and that only made it easier for his old roommate to catch her attention.
  
  It was the risk he had accepted, the dangers of love for a woman's beautiful eyes that was cursed to bring men down to their knees. James worked three jobs after school to make sure she was happy. Despite his patience, loyalty and his careful watch, it was inevitable that eventually he would be too far from home one day -- and she disappeared with an email. She was taken from him. It did not matter how it happened, just that it did --by his brother.
  
  Now alone, and very tired, James committed himself to finishing school to become a police officer. His family managed to get in the last word, after James failed in a relationship they had never approved of, when Hannah married James' brother.
  
  Transferred to a new town, a new place, James has started anew, eager to learn what freedom is like.
