  • Biography

    Abisaid Qureshi was born of one of the most well-known Muslim families, with a lineage that traced all the way to the pagan days of Mecca before the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) began teaching. His family migrated to America after a long line of homes across the Middle East and Europe, settling in a small town in the northern US. His father and mother kept the closely-knit family strong in the Muslim faith, and so Said grew up Muslim surrounded by Christian and atheist friends.

    When Said was still a teenager, he felt that he was being told to serve in the military. Since he could remember other times in his life where it seemed that Allah was speaking to him, he answered and joined the military as an enlisted soldier instead of going to college. He endured minimal suspicion from his American-born brothers in arms, but fought well and made a name for himself in war by saving his squad from almost certain death at the hands of their enemies. He was awarded a silver star for his heroism and recommended for Special Forces. Said eventually completed training to become a US Army Ranger and served with the Ranger Battalion.

    Along the way, Said found his faith in question as he encountered extremists who told him that he was a failure to the Islamic world for abandoning his call to Jihad and fighting for the great devil of the west. That accusation shook him to his core, and he went on a spiritual journey wherever he was deployed, tasting and examining each individual philosophy and theology he could find to discover truth. That quest has changed him fundamentally as a person, but has not come to its conclusion yet. He remains in search of truth.
