  • BACKGROUND

    00 - 18 Jack was born into the Blackwell crime family, alchemists notorious for supplying dangerous and illicit substances that suppressed bloodlust. Widely despised, they drew fear and ire alike, and one night, a violent encounter with an angry mob rendered him mute. After escaping, he returned home and isolated himself in medical studies.

    18 - 32 Jack left the household once he was old enough for the small lumber town of Rowanwick, where he became the apprentice of an elderly apothecary whose shop he inherited after his mentor passed of age. With access to new resources, he sought to understand the terrible hunger that afflicted night creatures such as himself and find a true remedy.

    32 - 38 Jack formed an alliance with like-minded scientists in the nearby city of Los Lunares. Together, they created a temporary bloodlust suppressant through trial and error with ethical ingredients, and it worked. Ramsgate, a reigning city-state, did not want a cure, however, and one coworker was coerced into committing arson and destroyed everything.

    38 - 52 Jack survived the collapse and was sentenced by Ramsgate to do time in a mining prison colony. Still hellbent on a solution, he resorted to extreme measures and rose in rank until his worth and likability earned him early freedom. Not too long after, Underhive emerged under his leadership, a mob that trafficked human remains on the topside.
