Efficacious

One of Effy's greatest regrets is that she never got to meet her mother. Beautiful and vivacious Tintinatious (Tinte for short) Fiddlemorn died in childbirth leaving Effy to be raised by her loving if rather awkward and uncertain father. While Hubert (Hue for short) has always loved his daughter, he can't quite help but unconsciously blame her for the death of her mother and so their relationship has always been very slightly strained.


Due to her father working full time to support himself and his only daughter, Effy grew up rather wild, being taken care of by a wide variety of nannies, babysitters, family, etc. Without any really solid force for consistent and distinct structure in her life, she just sort of tended to do as she pleased and since what she pleased was rarely all that bad, most of her caretakers let her. At the age of nine, however, Effy lost her best friend in an unexplained accident. Something about this event changed Effy. She began to look seriously into religion, scouring books, visiting every church, monastery and temple in the area, bombarding holy men and atheists alike with her endless list of questions.


Through most of her young life Effy studied or practiced a wide variety of religions, seemingly searching for...something. Something she may or may not have found as eventually, around the time she finished high school, her search came to an end without any clear 'winner.' Effy didn't actually finish high school with the rest of her class either. Due to being out 'sick' for the last few months of junior year, the girl was forced to retake a few classes in summer school. Though she eventually got her diploma, she never walked with her class.


Once she did finally graduate, however, there was no doubt in her mind what path her life would take. She immediately signed up for the best nursing school in the area. There was no stopping her now. Not even a short but intense fling with another nursing student could slow her down and Effy eventually graduated an RN with honors. She now works as an emergency room nurse at Heartland Community Hospital, as well as volunteering in the pediatrics and NICU whenever necessary. She also volunteers at local animal shelters, women's shelters and the like. The woman seems determined to keep herself beyond busy but also to do as much good in the world as humanly possible while doing it.







Halfling Effy lived much the same life, save for a few key changes.

-After her best friend died, Effy actually ran away from home and devoted herself to the service of Yondalla, eventually joining up with a cleric under with whom she could study and travel.

-Instead of becoming a nurse she became a cleric, working mostly with caravans and tending to avoid larger settlements unless their need was great.

-Her unique hair and eye color as well as her hair's rather absurd length is derived from a magical incident involving a god of death, a bit of black rain, and some not so pleasant after effects which she attempted to remedy with magic to only mild success.
