Once upon a time, a young sluagh man sought a way to ensure he would remember himself in the next life, or maybe lives is more apt. So he decided to make use of his literary talents and love of books to remember himself. It took a fair number of tries, several centuries’ worth in fact, but eventually he managed. All he wanted was to rediscover himself. What he did not anticipate was that he would end up becoming the author of what is likely the longest running children’s fantasy series in history. And all under a pseudonym that was once his actual name. Such is the strange tale of the man currently named Jonah Kingsley and that only scratches the surface of his uncanny life.

Like every changeling, Jonah lives a curious double life. Within the Autumn World he is a soft-spoken young man with a collection of eccentricities who keeps to himself. In the safety of his somehow functional apartment, he continues his work in children’s fiction, though whether he does this in a continued attempt to keep remembering himself or because he simply enjoys it, is not entirely clear. Perhaps he himself does not know. What he does know is that neither court is entirely keen on the little secrets of fae society he occasionally slips into his work. What’s worse is that he does not seem to claim alignment with either of the courts so it’s a tad difficult deciding who should reprimand him. If observation hints at anything, it appears he is a man with Seelie values but Unseelie methods, “whatever the situation necessitates” as he likes to say. As a sluagh however, he operates as an information broker, always seeming to know a little interesting tidbit about everyone. Should you seek his aid, however, only the most impatient will seek him out. Do not worry, he will find you in good time when he knows you have something to give him in exchange.

Like most of his kith, Jonah is unceasingly polite, yet also just as secretive and standoffish. He is nothing if not strategic in what he reveals about himself, and if he dares discuss himself openly, well, it certainly will be someone with whom he holds a great deal of trust. Perhaps the great lengths to which he goes for his privacy is why he writes. If no one knows enough about him to remember, then he must find a way to do so himself. And if his work happens to spark wonder and fear in the minds of his readers, then surely it’s not just himself who reaps the benefits.

Chimera
Sasha has been with Jonah since his chrysalis many years ago. Seeming to be a hybrid of bat and moth, the creature is both companion and silent scout to her sluagh changeling. Usually, to be found perched upon his shoulder or discreetly tucked away into a jacket or cardigan, Sasha is only ever far from his side when given a task and she always loyally follows through. Sasha has a knack for spying and observing undetected, ever in the shadows, and always seeming to just escape notice. A sweet, shy, and clingy creature, Jonah's chimera does not warm to others easily.

Ability:

• Under Cover of Night-Due to her natural camouflage, Sasha can easily blend into her environment, making it that much harder to detect her presence. +2 modifier to Stealth.
