History

• Ancient

  Luci has spoken of his history to only a few close loved ones. Since his undeath, he has bumbled and cartwheeled through history, disappearing and reappearing here and there to avoid garnering too much attention and through his own eccentric pursuits. He speaks rarely of his parents and upbringing, then rarer still of his Sire.

• Northkeep

  For a while he resided at Northkeep, a colossus of brick and mortar in the mountans of Etla Isle. There he lived as a messenger and rascal amongst the lively patrons of the keep. When Northkeep eventually crumbled at the hands of Raal, Lucian mourned its loss as a place he'd come to call home.

• Skuldhellir

  Eventually, he arrived at Skuldhellir, a sleepy fishing town surrounded by dark mountains and mysterious caves. He kept mostly to himself, keeping out of sight as best as possible. With the town's residents hardened against gnoll raids and cautious of supernatural creatures, he was careful to remain out of their way. He made friends with a young squirrel-girl, who would wake him every evening to play.
  
  There, he was befriended by a young woman who thought of him as a curiosity, a fetish of times past and times to come. Underfed and near feral, she unwittingly visited him and was subjected to the 'Kiss'. After drinking her blood to the point of certain fatality, Lucian was overwhelmed with remorse and turned her, granting her unlife in exchange for the one he'd taken away.
  
  Afterwards, though bearing the guilt for destroying what she once was, he rejoiced in their companionship. He became both her Sire and lover, taking great pride in the fledgling vampire. Shortly after, they became separated, but unable to remember their parting each were unaware of the fate of the other. Decades on, he carried a heavy heart for his 'Little Love.'

• Peddler's Hollow

  Approximately half a century later, Luci arrived in Peddler's Hollow. He had touched on dry land only a few nights, before he encountered his fledgling vampire at last. By this time Saundra's prior life had truly been stolen away; she had become somewhat wild and lacked much of the knowledge and abilities, which a Sire is meant to instil in their protégé. Her dress soiled and tattered and her hunger untapered by a Sire's guiding hand, she had killed many to feed her appetite.
  
  Reunited, Luci still looked upon Saundra as a child, treating her largely as such. She was however, no longer a wide-eyed fledgling, but seasoned, violent and constantly grappling with vampiric hunger. This came to an end, when she lured The Mink through a dark alley and devoured him; Luci watched with a peculiar mixture of pride and sadness, for the innocent vampire he'd created was no more, but she had instead become something raw, wild and powerful.
  
  In that time, Luci has befriended a number of unlikely companions, including mortalkind, witches and a werewolf.
  
  Since then, while Saundra sought to walk amongst mortalkind without fear of surrendering to vampiric hunger, The Mink twisted her desire through Fae magic. In granting Saundra's wish he stole Luci's 'gift' from her, leaving the mad vampiress now, a maddened mortal. Luci held her tightly, insisting that she will always be his Childe and he, her Sire.
  
  Luci went on to seek out The Mink's master, to determine if re-embracing Saundra into vampirism was possible. Dorax, the only one with even a semblance of control over The Mink, seemed bemused when Luci attempted to explain the situation and left him with only a vague warning against attempts to re-Embrace Saundra. A week or so later and the mad vampire finally returned his gift to his lover and brought her back into darkness.
  
  With the reek of DEATH sweeping over Peddler's Hollow, promising to cull the werewolf menace that choked the town, it dawned upon Luci that when the smoke cleared they would not be content in the murder of werewolves alone. They would next turn their torches upon vampires and all other supernatural persons. Motivated by this suspicion, he called for a coach and left the Hollow for the Kasurian Capitol, Malgrave.

• Yveridia

  After leaving the Hollow behind, the macabre funeral coach arrived in Yveridia. Rolling awkwardly through the thicket surrounding the town, it came to rest at the stables, where its great black stallions were put up.
  
  While the horses rested, Luci made the acquaintance of a vampire who professed a perverse manner of feeding, but vowed to leave Luci and all those who bore his blood untouched. He agreed, in exchange for not interfering, for the vampire still felt the chill of DEATH creeping against his back. A few nights later, just before dawn he found himself in the slums. Drawn to a lantern in the dark, he happened upon a den of poisonous vices and the vampiress who headed it; they exchanged pleasantries, smirks and wits.
  
  The night following, Luci met the acquaintance of a peculiar creature. A lilac-skinned Elf, easily empassioned and lead by base desires. The vampire drew Neirin aside with the promise of guiding him to the inn, only to feed from him. The night before his departure, Luci visited the Elf again in his room at the Mage's College. This time however, he exchanged blood with Neirin and after choking the beastial creature which the Elf briefly revealed beneath that lilac flesh, Luci left the following night.
  
  The funeral coach, with its gaunt and ragged driver, rolled back through the thicket of Yveridia and rejoined the main road. Bound for Malgrave, the vampire continued on.
