Lacuna

Lacuna M. Wolfhound: Ringed eyes of amethyst reflect faceted fire and intensity. Her head fur is cut to the base coat on the sides, with a coifed curl up top, and her smile offers sharklike teeth. Despite this strangeness, her body is stranger yet-- with a pair of black cephalopodian tentacles emitting from beneath her shoulder blades. For clothing, her heterodoxic behaviors come through clearly in her masculine garb.

A leather jack of black ties close to her chest, with a purple cinched stomach belt that hosts a pouch to her left. Tucked into that is a pair of form fitting leather trousers, with cut away the backs of joints that gives way at the back of the knees to a flexible thin cloth, allowing an enhanced range of motion. Heavy leather boots tie tightly at the lower calf, and a Wolf's Head stylized pin sits above her breast and to the side.

While she doesn't act like a slave, she bears a black circlet at the throat and a pair of matching cuffs. A pair of ebon glazed daggers sheath at her thighs, and a switchblade is visible peeking out of a bracer within her jacket's cuff.


Heterodoxical, Lacuna is prone to anarchism and rejection of the standards that the world seeks to impose on her. She's engaging and friendly, but also unscrupulous and lazy. She's got a sense of ethics, but it isn't YOUR sense of ethics. She teeters and totters on the balance of optimistic and pessimistic, dipping into either depending on mood. For a member of the Wolfhound family, she's surprisingly tolerant of people, but can turn feral with little provocation. She's an explorer and a day dreamer, and a tree climber, and wants to know what is over every horizon.

Despite having the vessel of a young woman, Lacuna is in control of her basic Shadowlyng essence, and can manifest Shadows at roughly the same level of any other trained Shadowlyng. She's Void Born, which means that specific aspects of her body are different than your average Shadowlyng, as her innate shadow-manipulation abilities connect with her mortal body, allowing her greater extension and manipulation of her furre form than most. Currently, her collar is restricting her from using most of her powers and magic.


Lithe, but toned, with the form of a trained acrobat or gymnast. She's incredibly limber, and almost completely double jointed. Her physiology allows her to bend and contort herself in ways that would break the bones of most mortal furres. Like most Shadowlyngs, her mortal vessel has the appearance of a mundane furre, with bones and sinew, but is just a skin-suit wrapped over a field of shadow essence.

Lacuna's physical motor skills are fine tuned with years of practice in swordsmanship, dueling, sparring, and scrapping. In the last few years she's been traveling the world, fighting in a number of arenas, pits, and underground gladia, and has learned hundreds of ways to inflict harm upon people, especially the type of men who fight in pits and are twice her size.

She uses her sharp intelligence and wit to cut through red tape, or sometimes her claws, and occasionally slips into ghoulish or outright feral behaviors due to her origins and instincts.



Horrific Tentacles: These aren't always around, but when they are, they extend from just beneath her shoulder blades, where her wings connect. They're long and snakelike, made of jet black scaly flesh. They resemble the arms of an octopus, except that the underside is full of extendable sharp spike-like fangs. When the fangs are bared, they ooze a black liquid that induces infection, pain, and if it's untreated, potential crippling effects.

Sharklike Teeth: She's got rows and rows of monstrous sharklike teeth that she doesn't bother to hide. They're a clear weapon when nothing else will work, and are used to intimidate people when threatened. Like a shark, they never stop growing, and a knocked out tooth will quickly be replaced by another. Her teeth mark her amongst her race as having great ambition.

Burning Eyes: Her irises are faceted like cut gems, with faint orange flickers of glow behind them, and that glow expands beyond that, into the sclera of her eyes, casting a ring of fire around them that marks her from first glance as anything but a furre. This is a racial sign of great magical potential.
